Guys
Need some opinion regarding my issue. I plan to get a sedan car. Budget around RM100k
Came across this Polo Sedan, 2011 car I can get around RM6k discount, which brings the car to around RM95-96k OTR.
The reason I choose VW :
1. 5 yrs unlimited mileage warranty
2. 15k service interval
3. It's a VW.
But few of my friends advised me to get Korean like Hyundai Elantra (RM97k OTR for 1.6 High Spec) with more features. Personally I don't mind having the Hyundai, but I'm afraid since it's INOKOM, after sales and service would be below average.
What do you guys think?
Hi there,
you will need to ask yourself the following question
a) how long do change you car ? If 3-5 years then VW may not be the answer.
More than 5 years than okay

Spare parts wise for VW you can get anything under the roof is only the waiting time. I have Vento and Ig to friends still driving a MK1 and all parts can be order even a gearbox. It is just waiting time
Do you know Singapore VW/Audi spare warehouse part is the size of 3 football field and has been around for the last 10 years already. That was told me from euromobil collegue
c) Hyundai styling is catching up I would say. No question about that Built Quality still need to work on it. My friend got Kia forte first week already got rattaling sound. Of course, no car is prefect. Still tying to isolate weird sound from my Passat CC
My two cents. I would urge you for Jetta instead of polo. Reason
a) 1.6 is proven engine but been around for long time

Gearbox 6 speed okay since my is only 4 speed (bora) which translate to more fuel economy
c) 1.4TSI is a much fuel efficient engine and the gearbox is good
