no surprises at all on power. i think the teana fares a bit better with the 250 version. but then again, teana has never been a driver's car, and with a NA engine, the biggest problem is the lack of torque compared to the turbo ecoboost. surely feel the difference!!

anyway i'm wondering when the 2012 stocks will arrive. 2-3 more weeks i'm guessing.

Am seriously wanting this mondeo. I think specs wise it is better than passat. Now confirmed that ride and handling also better. If they are really offering 2-3k discount for 2011 model do you think it is a good deal, since 2012 batch will probably have are small increase of 2-3k. So potentially there is a saving of 4-6k if we take the 2011 model. Does it make a big difference if we get last years reg ?

Of course there is still the age old problem of resale - thought long and hard, Dont mind biting the bullet and just enjoying the ride without worrying about resale value.

Opinions please

I would suggest wait till the 2012 stock and see what is the price. Mondeo do not sell much, so I beileve 2011 stock still plenty.

go book a car first. then after booking, tell the SA you are trying to sell off your current ride and wait until the 2012 stocks arrive. that way
a) when the 2012 stocks arrive, you can still get the 2011 unit if the 2012 stocks only have a price increase (and no extra features), or
cool.gif talk to SA and tell him to change to 2012 car if you like it.

if u're not so worried about resale value and both 2011 and 2012 have the same spec, then better to just take 2011 car and enjoy the savings upfront.

For me, if the preceding year model is not more than 10% cheaper than the current year model, I will go for the current model. Your current indicated savings of RM6k is not worth it for the 2011 model.

Your problem is that you do not know what the 2012 price for the Mondeo is and, IMO, the more important question you should ask if whether there are any specification changes.

Thanks for the input. Yes all good points. So i think it is prudent to wait and see what is the price of the 2012 model and also any spec changes.
Meanwhile current mondeo owners, any issues so far with your purchase or no regrets ? Would like to hear more of your experiences !

No problem so far and enjoying my ride everyday. Coming to 5 months and around 6500km..

If for me I would wait for the new one if I know there are coming in the next few months. Just as I did last year considering the duratorq and the coming new model ecoboost. At that time the duratorq got quite a substantial discount 30k. But I waited and got the ecoboost, no regret.

Just spoke to SA. Apparently there will only be a very small increase in price for 2012 model. Price will still be below 180k. No change in spec. He is checking if the stock is already available. Also depends on color choice. Looks like getting closer to reality! Any comments about color. Initially was keen on ice white but since my other ride is already white, the missus suggested getting some other color. Kinda like the parkside. Any feedback. thanks

They don't bring in anymore ice white, the last time I wanted an ice white and the SA told me I need to add RM2K for it. I agree to it but tak jadi because they do not have any ice white anymore and don't intend to bring it in. Have to settle with frozen white lo. smile_cool.gif

Color is a very personal preference. Any color on the car if it is look good in your eyes and imagine yourself driving it and still looking cool.. go for it.. follow your heart.

Personally do not like parkside, too much of the brown.

My personal preferance is midnight sky.
