That one only the fan running. If not mistaken all Campro has this feature.
Only the fan runs, not the engine.
With turbo timer, the engine runs as well.
For turbo car, it helps circulate the oil and let the turbine to cool down which is crucial to prolong the turbine's lifespan.
Then again, P1 eg should hav done all the math to not include a built in turbo timer.
Still, i myself will installed1.
am about to say the same thing as urs.
nxt visit will ask PESC whether can install turbo timer or not.

Hi Sifus,
How long approximately do we need to let the engine running?
Thank you.

Any where from 1-3mins is sufficient as its water cooled. Other bigger turbos used in the after market usually don't have coolant section so the oil is used to cool the bearings, so must idle longer.
When I was installing turbo timers in the past, (was mechanic in younger days lah) I usually have the alarm problem. When timer is on the car cannot lock, or when timer on car can lock but when timer off car open. So with the exora and its Body control unit, not such what problems we will face. Won't know until we try.

You don't need a turbo timer. I think it already has one, coz sometimes when I off the engine, the fan will still run for 1-2 minutes. Not all the time, but sometimes, especially if you ran the MPV fast fast.
If you are a family man, this is the MPV. You just don't need to set high expectations and can live with the minor quirks. With that in mind, I think this is still a good buy. The next class up is Estima, which is way out budget. So there you have it, the best MPV under 80k for now.
fan is controlled by a relay.
for 90K, exora is the best MPV buy yet. but send exora to the open market and see how it fairs there.
places like UK, exora is not even on sale there yet.

Let's be realistic. We are in Malaysia, not open market.

Let's be realistic. We are in Malaysia, not open market.
There is some truth in the above statement. We only are able to buy what we can afford locally from the choices we have locally. No use about talking kok about other car etc, when the reality is that is is what we have. If we had an open market system this conversation wouldn't even come up.
Its just like if we were in the North pole and all we have is fish and canned food. We only can eat fish and canned food. That is what we have and that is what we can afford. In that context we do not have the luxury of choice unless you are filty rich and can afford for Durian to be flown in. But then Santa Clause would most probably disagree with the smell and flavor same with the polar bears, happy feet and the Eskimos. Got Eskimos there ah?

i do agree with this...
if proton dares to send those savvy, persona and neo to compete in overseas open market (like arabian gulf, china and uk)
why not continue the work and see if proton getting a better acceptance from user outside malaysia or a turndown....
since exora already making its name on green technology competition in uk last year......i didn't see it as a major issue....but my expectation would be on the bright side if proton do so...

Got my Bold yesterday and notice the fan turning even though the engine if shut but when I turn on the turn the fan stops. When I pull out the key, it starts again. Called PE Mutiara and the SA said it was normal.
