yup..every oil change I add 2 x1r engine treatment, with fuch still very very smooth exceeding 10k km. you are doing high mileage too everyday like me, the engine oil will sufficiently burn any residue and no need to change too short interval actually. Same goes to diesel taxi, bus and lorrry.

read also rx270xdi engine perform better with multi grade mineral oil than synthetic , not sure about captiva and yes my engine still perform like new.

Having tried both Fully Syn and Mineral, I find Mineral give smoother and quieter engine. Rexton is using 9 litre engine oil that suppose to last 15k miles according to Service Manual, but of course different environment and driving condition do make a difference.

15k miles !!! is a lot and converted to kms = 24,000kms? I will have changed 5 times of oil already!

All my cars dont follow manufacturer's recommended schedule, and usually change at 1/2 of their recommended mileage, since it is trashed and used as a rough and tough workhorse, running at wee odd hours always and sometimes doing 10-12 hrs of - , high speed running so for safety and to be safe, save times in workshop and dont want to have any premature repairs or change any parts and must be on the road for 300k kms and then get a new workhorse again.
Just my 1 cts, for my case.

The Service Manual do state recommendation base on operating environment. I am also following 5,000km change interval because I drive mostly short distance, so 5,000km could last me quite a few months.

(1) If vehicle is operated under severe condition : short distance driving, extensive idling or driving in dusty condition.
Change engine oil and the filter every 5,000km or 6 months, whichever comes first.

(2) More frequent maintenance is required if under dusty driving condition.

(3) Refer to ā€œRecommended fluids and lubricantsā€.

(4) More frequent maintenance is required if under severe condition : short distance driving, extensive idling, frequent low-speed operation in stop-and-go traffic or driving in dusty condition.

(5) Change automatic transmission fluid and filter every 60,000km if the vehicle is mainly driven under severe conditions.
- In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 32oC (90oF) or higher, or
- In hilly or moutainous terrain, or
- When doing frequent trailer towing, or
- Uses such as found in taxi, police or delivery service.

(6) After completion of off-road operation, the underbody of the vehicle should be throughly inspected. Examine threaded fasteners for looseness.

(7) If necessary, rotate and balance wheels.

(8) Inspect propeller shaft grease every 5,000km or 3 months if the vehicle is mainly driven under severe condition.
- In off-road or dusty road, or
- In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 32oC (90oF) or higher, or
- In hilly or moutainous terrain.

Your item has been waiting for your collection since last gathering. Where are you located?

Engine oil is 18 litre pail, so going to be more costly to courier. If you around KL/PJ, easier to collect them directly.

Hi,
How much does it costs to courier the items to me in Temerloh pls?
Have some free time next week to fixed it.
Any news on the Turbo repair kits?

Thanks

Can easily check with courier company, if you can get the packed carton size and its gross weight.
