I'll kickstart this list:
- Proper cupholders and a lot more of them. Currently, the 2 pathetic cupholders in the front console can hold espresso cups only.

- At RM185k, I would have expected a lockable glovebox.

- Gas struts for the bonnet and since the S-Max comes with a metal bonnet prop, I would expect it to come with a rubber or plastic grip part so that I don't scald my fingers trying to prop up the bonnet (even RM80k Korean cars have these now so Ford needs more attention to detail).

- More compartments around the car. An MPV is meant to ferry people. People have lots of things with them.

- Front passenger airbag deactivation. All the S-Max's competitors (5008 and Cross Touran) have this.

My wish list :-

1) IVDC - it will further enhance the driving experience

2) DVD + touch screen navigation which support reverse cameras, it will further make S Max interior more luxury

3) Electronic hand brake

4) Leather seat

5) Openable panorama glass roof

My wish list:

- auto door lock - for security reason, even the MyVis have this.

- Passenger doors cannot be open easily from inside if they are locked - Now the doors, even if they are locked, can be open by simply pulling the open lever without having to undo the lock first. This can be dangerous for kids.

- Complete infortainment - DVD/GPS/reverse cam/roof monitor/TPMS/USB/iPod/SD/multiformat HD media player is a must have nowadays!

- The current Sony HU can decipher Chinese - The same unit used in Mondeo in Taiwan and China could read Chinese. This is useful for those who listen to Chinese music so the ID tag of the songs/artists/albums can be displayed. I wonder if Ford Malaysia can help me update the unit to read Chinese.

- The twin clutch could be smoother in slow traffic - still yet to get used to the not-so-freely roll car in slow speed.

- larger amd more cupholders.

- A proper front side light - there is no front light when the small light is turned on. Worse the DRL is dimmed once the light is on.

Continental cars can all be unlocked from the inside even though the doors are locked. I don't know why they do it but I guess it's got to do with regulations. I trust that you are aware of the child locks available for the back doors. Isn't that sufficient enough?

As for the driving lamps, I am very happy wtih the dimmed LEDs. I think they are much more visible (even when dimmed) compared to the traditional W5W bulb lamps.

Auto door locks boils down to personal taste. I can't stand them as I am used to unlocking and locking on my own.

I am very very certain Google will help with enabling Chinese recognition on the HU.

Today I discovered something that is just smacks of plain short-sightedness on the part of Ford's design team - the sun visors do not fully shade off the top part of the windscreen. When both sunvisors are open, sun light can still come in from the area above the rear view mirror.

Ford - that's just poor design. Piss-poor design. Even the Koreans are better than you at this smile_angry.gif

This is my 1st conti car so I am not used to it. My girl says jokingly she is scared she may fall off. The child lock is not convenient to use as I tend to forget unlock the child lock and off the engine, then the doors cannot be open from inside.

The original HU doesn't come with Chinese language choice, I believe it needs to adjust the factory setting to add in Chinese as one of the default languages (much like the handphones where the language setting needs an adjustment of the inbuilt software). How does Google help in this instance?

Google can assist in perhaps providing you with a software download for you to upload into the car.

interesting ... most of the features required have been available in frenchies for yonks

airbags that can be turned off and on at will
extra cubbyholes and still more extra cubbyholes/storage compartments
good internal/ambient lights with children's rearview mirror
visors that give good shade/eye protection
glass roofs, panoramic or otherwise (unfortunately, this IS malaysia where the uncivilised continue to inhabit ...)
if only the frenchies had more committed support and less reliability issues *sighhh*

it's a given when we use childlocks, we must open the doors for the children - we just need to get used to it smile_blush.gif
thankfully the power door lock in our car, once locked, allows only the driver to open from the inside (slightly similar to beemers) - unless the person manually unlocks their door smile_blackeye.gif

the C-max comes with sliders - it is unfortunate it isn't availed to us
but S-max's space beats it hands down

as for e-brakes, i'd still go with the manual, be it hand or foot operated
the french have yet to work out the kinks/gremlins with their e-brakes

leather seats and ICE with DVD/MP3, etc, aren't that important for us, thankfully
our younger gens are getting too involved/hooked with e-ntertainment as it is
basic CD/receiver is good enough
otherwise, we can expect to fork out much more .. say, in the region of RM215-235k mebbe?
my humble 2cents
