interesting ... most of the features required have been available in frenchies for yonks
airbags that can be turned off and on at will
extra cubbyholes and still more extra cubbyholes/storage compartments
good internal/ambient lights with children's rearview mirror
visors that give good shade/eye protection
glass roofs, panoramic or otherwise (unfortunately, this IS malaysia where the uncivilised continue to inhabit ...)
if only the frenchies had more committed support and less reliability issues *sighhh*
it's a given when we use childlocks, we must open the doors for the children - we just need to get used to it
thankfully the power door lock in our car, once locked, allows only the driver to open from the inside (slightly similar to beemers) - unless the person manually unlocks their door
the C-max comes with sliders - it is unfortunate it isn't availed to us
but S-max's space beats it hands down
as for e-brakes, i'd still go with the manual, be it hand or foot operated
the french have yet to work out the kinks/gremlins with their e-brakes
leather seats and ICE with DVD/MP3, etc, aren't that important for us, thankfully
our younger gens are getting too involved/hooked with e-ntertainment as it is
basic CD/receiver is good enough
otherwise, we can expect to fork out much more .. say, in the region of RM215-235k mebbe?
my humble 2cents

Passenger airbag deactivation is available in the S-Max but it wasn't specified in the Malaysian-bound model

Cubbyholes the S-Max has - I just need more. The 5008 doesn't fare very well in my cubbyhole book as well.
With 6 LED interior lamps and 2 boot lamps, the S-Max has the best interior lighting in its class
