This is a petrol unit, a diesel unit like Tazztham post earlier is much much more higher specsl in hp and nm.

Read about this since last year.
Engine spec is the same as the current Santa Fe 2.2L engine with humongous torque of 442Nm @ 1800rpm and 193hp @ 4000rpm. Fuel consumption is stated at 14.9km/l. That's only 6.7l/100km! It's also mated to a 6-speed auto gear box.
All these, in the new Captiva.

Have been using 2x for the past 2 & 3 yrs already and clocked 90k and 160k kms - so far toucjh wood - no problem.
But frankly abit of smoke on hard acceralation.
The Bosch fuel injector is Ok, as compared to Siemen and Dhephi injectors maybe? Santa use Bosch too!

Have tested drove it, 2nd gear cvan do wheel spinning already, with red bird maybe 3 rd also can. But need to be lowered and brake system upgrade, found it to be a little on the untamed side on hard driving and cornering, Just my 2 cts - Others are great and alots of features. wait for it new redesign model and will consider to get it - maybe 1-2 yrs down the road?

Precisely my point, smoke, and the 'blackie' area around exhaust. I have not seen this problem in Spore.... but really, the car will perform better when on Euro4 or Vpower diesel (avail in Europe) or Ultra Low Sulphur diesel (avail in Spore). Try it if you are down in Spore. We tested it on a 530d and the ride from Spore to KL is so good!
