My wifey drives the swift more, me ejoying forte...hehehe
207?....at KLIMS when i opened the door it feels so light and flimsy....interior is dull, so i just close the door back (PIAKK!!) and walk off
The 'saloon hair' smell you get when u rev high comes from catalytic converter, it also acts as signal for you to slow down
Those who change exhaust system dun get the smell
Hi darreltian,
Thanks for the "refreshing" and candid comments. I am torn in 3 ways in the Swift, 207 and Inspira.

A relative is looking to buy the new Swift and a few questions to the existing owners or sifu of such cars:
1) How's the FC for pure town driving and highway use? Read in LowYat forum this car FC quite bad??
2) ENgine pick-up as compared to Myvi or equivalent 1.5 cc cars?
3) Maintenance cost and any major issues to look out for?
Need not comment on space as well since buyer looking for such size of car, it's a known fact..

Full tank RM65 (RM1.80/ltr)
Can go up to 450km mixed driving(highway and town)
Engine pick up is OK and better than Myvi.
Maintenance cost: regular servicing is "manageable" but "not cheap". For normal servicing bring cash RM300 + standby your credit card. Exhaust oxygen sensor cost RM800++.(mine fails at 145k km mileage)
'nuff said.

Thanks for the valuable info..
FC sounds quite good already and could be better than a Myvi! Such FC achievable via 50% town + 50% town or?
For servicing, u mean they dun accept credit cards?
Wah.. 145k km... well by such mileage guess many other brand of cars will be subjected to major repairs/service.

SS 1.5 FC can beat myvi auto anytime and anywhere, in fact it performs better in city drive
i have a salesman fren clocking more than 200K km and the engine and GB still running strong..
it runs on EPS, so no PS periodical maintenance....parts maybe on the high side but which japs car not?.....safety is not compromised and u still get 2 airbags, ABS and EBD...it has been labelled as 'affordable mini car' where u still can get some fun driving it

Yup.. they choose the Swift.. and from looks of it, way better than the Myvi.. took for a short spin.. and well fun car to drive though power so-so (maybe still new kua).. and car comes loaded with features ie. keyless, leather wrap steering & controls.. etc

just changed new donuts for wifey ride....the odd size makes it difficult and limited choice
OEM rim size: 15" with 5.5J and ET45
OEM tyre size: 185/60/15
There are very few tyre brands having this size and I don't want use back Bridgie....in the end I chose Mich PS3 but the closest options avaliable:
- 195/55/15 but for this size advisable rim size is 5.5J - 7J...... i dont like the look of donut sitting protruding so much from rim
- 185/55/15..... diameter diff 3% smaller which is still acceptable
My wife gave me budget of 1K and I chose the latter which comes together with free balancing and chrome steel valve. I took it for a spin and immediately I feel the car now is more 'planted' and less wobly / bouncy....the firmer and lower side wall improved the ride tremendously compare to stock...earlier I planned to change to Eibach coil but that can wait coz my wife is far less aggressive driver compare to myself
