Hahaha.. the black smoke bomb is under controlled, at least under normal acceleration there is no black smoke on mine yet. It is the sudden acceleration before the turbo kicking in that cause unburn diesel to release a thick black smoke bomb.

Hi,
Black smoke emission normally originate from unburnt fuel. Possibly fuel/air control not as per specs.
Another suspect is worn out injectors which inject extra fuel into the combustion chamber.
EGR maybe another culprit.
Anyway, 2moro I will be going to Penang. Will bring along a spare Fuel filter, just in case. he! he! he! smile_cool.gif

then we should make a contest during our TT - who smoke the most on acceleration...hahahahahaha ( relax the throttle then floored it usually give the best result smile_tongue.gif )

Yo, i noticed this thick smoke things, when i was on my way back from KL on Friday, somewhere near Tanjung Malim,
one Waja keep flash me as i am on right lane with 110KM/H, and no way to go left lane as heavy traffic. So i has no choice, but pressed maximum, of course the speed accelerate from 110KM to 160 KM just within few second, and left the Waja far behind, yes, of course, let him smell the thick smoke too. smile_tongue.gif

Bro Hasher,
the other day I was with rx270xdi racing down the NKVE at 180 km ML also gave way to us. There was an Ambulance at the Toll we overtook the Ambulance and that was that!. Black smoke covered the poor Ambulance and the whole highway was all
fogggy due to our test run ha! ha! ha!

there is a shop in Tanah Merah that can repair back the side step, i'm sure other shop also know how to do it.

can't just change the side step with another model, eg pajero sidestep, just custom in installation to rexton?

1 more thing, just came back from Kelantan and send my rexton for chemical disc brake wash, they wash my disc brake with some chemical then blow it to dry, after that the brake keep silence as usual, my question is why my rear brake too sensitive with dirt, it's keep make screeching sound especially when I'm at my hometown since there is no garage at my mom's home so if there is raining sand and dirt could stick on the disc or pad. I believe if I went to workshop they will skim the brake, but just clean the disc could solve the problems, or it could be my disc brake is too sensitive? if yes what is the recommended solutions?

yeah, 13 rexton with black smoke on high speed. I don't realize about my rex black smoke problem, just notice there will be if I press the pedal to max in the morning while heating up the engine, then I got warning from workshop, we should not do that in heating the engine in the morning, just leave the engine idle. Beside never reach more than 120km/h, this is big SUV, and it's stable even in high speed but afraid about the cost for emergency brake.

Hi Bro,

I think it is the active rollover program that brake/unbrake the rear to stabilise when cornering or on wet road, can hear it clearly when slowly driven but disappear at higher speed. Have you test drive other rexton for comparison?

hahahha Naughty idea but I think if really dozen of us smoking the highway, those behind really got to slow down to wait for the black smoke to clear before seeing the road clearly.
