i had a short and a bit of experience with an SG version of the 1.6E altis, i assume they are the same like the one here. the suspension was comfortable and i liked it, handles pretty well and built my confidence in a short test drive. the only thing was the space which was quite cramped for me. maybe my benchmark is a different category, my dad's camry and my myvi..the altis just felt cramped front and back. but comfort suspension setup is something i wish to praise it. FC wise not too sure (heard it saves a lot like the vios) but this 1.6 has decent power, enough for those who are looking for smooth driving. the power loses to the 1.8 in terms of pickup and torque so in highway, the 1.8 would be easier to go to 160km/h whereas this 1.6 is just smooth sailing. most toyota cars especially the sedans are overpriced a bit IMO.
want to change ur Wish ah?? haha

At least better than the TRD Vios overpriced at 92k!! Just add another 10k u'll get a different category car. At least your status of driving ALTIS is better than VIOS...

New Altis cramped? then a lot of car becomes mini car d.
For 1.6L you may compare it to Nissan Latio ST-L version which selling around 93k(no more production now), it is about 9k difference. Altis give you bigger space and nicer outlook while Latio give you higher torque and harder body.
Personal feel this Altis 1.6 should reduce the price a bit, as the 1.8E only 109k which is very close. That's the reason we seldom see 1.6E on the road.

simonlim, thanks for sharing..not changing my wish la...but seriously before considering wish, altis 1.8 and civic 1.8 were in my mind also due to close pricing for each vehicle..but at the end woman power beats everything..
IMO altis 1.6e price should be around RM90K,..but another thing, it will hit the vios market with that price...
but one will consider 1.8E as the different of RM7K is very very minimal..

Altis 1.6 at RM90k, i think can

, only if UMW offered baseline J-spec variant (with both manual and auto) for their Altis 1.6

.

My friends recommended that 1.8 Altis is a better choice as it comes with VSC which is very valuable

yeah it's true..i think altis has its own fanatics..if UMW has done the right pricing/promotions like introduce J specs and of course discontinue its Vios sportivo and S spec, I bet the sales will increase..

The VSC comes only on the 1.8G, which is more than 109k.
Yes - the 1.6 seems a bit overpriced.
