Hi everyone,
Good to hear that there are people who are into Jimmy.
My dad own a Jimny and I own one too. But just sold mine off at 2x thousand. Well, the one we have had are hard top and another vehicle is canvas. We had got a Suzuki Swift, Land Cruiser, Double Cabs (Toyota, Frontier, Isuzu) Prado and etc vehicles that had all got 4 wheels drive.
Just want to say that a Jimny is actually a jeep and yeah, we can go to 140km/h but this car is not meant for speed. It's meant for light outdoor usage or simple on road travelling around the town (for it's small and good for parking!).
I used this car for hunting in the wild, for fishing, and we had used it on off road usage with friends who venture into the wild (yes, wild as in jungle). The car is light and in the event of sinking into the mud, a couple of personnel can easily push it and save it from sinking. We brought a friend's new Range Rover in couple years ago, but within a while the Range Rover sank in the off road since it is too heavy but the Jimny just keep going around. End up people from the Shaw's Brother (the one in Hong Kong doing motion pictures) agreed that the Jimny is good and easy to go around off road, comparing to the more bulky and agreesive Land Cruiser 470 and Range Rover. FYI if there's no one around to save you if you like to venture in the wild, get a wind! I got one install in front of my jeep. So that I can wind my self up anytime when there's trouble.
Price in comparison (Jeep cost the most less than 30k and Land Cruiser and Range Rover have their range up to even RM 1 million plus (for those with special option like anti bullet screen and bomb proof undercariage protection) while normal one will easily cost RM 400k - 800k. While you can show off in pretty, bulky, aggresive big 4 wheels, the Jimny is good for some quick stunts too

and yeah, I sometimes dun pay parking.. Coz I use 4 wheels to drive in and out of the car park lot!
Cheers!!!!
despite of the high market price for Jimny,i got SJ410 for RM6500 with
faulty double gear and recently the cylinder head gave up on me..still in
workshop and the mechanic told me 2 days ago,the head already in his
workshop...so maybe my jeep would get out in couple of days..
Ade_lee,
how much u got for ur leaf spring,..mine already concaving upwards...i
think the abs still good coz there's no leak..
job done for the last couple of month since i got the jeep:
1- brake pump changed for both of my rear wheels..
2- repair the wipers..only one on the driver side working be4...
3- rewiring several electrical components ie signal lamp, spot light etc..
4- battery replacement with a 2nd hand NS60 for RM45
my battery kongs out due to low amprere output from the alternator..the
multimeter says it's only 10A output..i'm still searching for the
alternator..the 'new' battery should give me some time..
the body still good coz the previous owner take a great care of the
looks..he just don't really mind inside the engine bay..
