hi kevin,
haha, dont misunderstand, so far i am 110% satisfied wif my EF. However, the 6 speed gearbox is a major concerned since it's new. I still remember the defection of Honda Citiy 7-speed gearbox few years back, which cost 20k++ to replace a new one.
for engine wise, i thought theta 2 is a new since previously is theta 1 ? the HP and Torque produced by theta2 is very exciting and the FC for the new YF is the main reason i choose YF.
Oh ya, dont forget the interior design, which is totally a step ahead of previous style. Damn, i love it !

It is way too early to tell if the new Hyundai 6-speed gearbox is reliable but I'm betting that it is. Hyundai is using the same gearbox across most of their range and it would be disastrous if it is not reliable.

Theta I and II are the same engine, just that Theta II is an improvement of Theta I. There is also a Theta II engine with GDI direct-injection technology but it appears that won't be offered in Malaysia.

More and more positive reviews coming in. Hopefully we can get pricing details from SD soon. I doubt they can price the way Naza does but hope its still reasonable. Regardless I want to test drive it and check out the "localised" specs... hope its not too watered down.

If anyone finds out the estimated price do keep us updated.

ya, we all waiting anxiously on the pricing. Sent emails to SD many times but received nothing. Sigh.
But the 2.0 price should be higher than the current i30 2.0, which means the price should be between 125k-140k... and wonder thus Dynamic Sound System, Navigator, and many others feature will be still exist in our LOCAL hyundai sonata... smile_blackeye.gif

Emm.. I think u will get disappointed if u are looking forward for the navigator, that exist only in korea and US, whereas in Malaysia, I doubt they will even consider it in Malaysia. Most probably u may get a pioneered player or something.. like the way SD sell their sonata.. (but I do hope they changed and don't replace with any other system which make the car dashboard look cheap and not integrated)..

Navigation n touch screen come with, maybe they will do as optional accessories.
If the 2.4 come in with Sunroof and Navi as optional, it's really sexy and pulling far away from T&H, or else, it will just be another 2.4 which could be better look, slightly more efficient camry...

Hello Hyundai and SD, If u wanna pull it far away fr Camry/Accord, then do it all the away, as more people have high expectation from your YF, jangan sini sikit, sana sikit.. everything half way.. or if daring, come out a premium version as well.. there are always people willing to pay for the premium, since company car are always being budgeted with certain price. range.

hmm... if they really replace it with some old fashion n ugly audio headset, then no choice lor but hav to change it aftermarket.

wonder 2.0 got the sunroof as well ... hehe. Anywhere, the main portion that attract me much is the air con section which looks sexy and UN-TRADITIONAL from other d-segment cars.

Thanks wangwang for your efforts contacting SD. I don't mind to forgo the center nav console and change with a basic HU but if they change the middle console (one with the fan speed adjustment) that would totally kill the car. I guess that was one feature that really got my attention.

Don't need sunroof because its really not practical for our weather. I won't ever open the roof because of the heat/ pollution and possibility of getting robbed! I hope for more safety features and to retain the soft plastics which give the interior a more upscale feel.

ya.. same as u, the middle console + optitron meter dashboard is the main part that i like most. From the picture, i wonder there having 8 speeds fan control ???? as i saw 8 boxes of the fan speed light.
this forum showing the sonata yf launched few days back at Singapore, according to the Hyundai SA, the features that's going to be launch in Malaysia will be mostly the same as SG.

PS : Black or White color is better ?

Oooo out in SG already?!?! Kewl! I like the white more than the black but I would choose silver or the grey colour. Easier for me to maintain since I would hand-wash my car.

How come the Sonata unit's steering wheel is on the left side and the Tucson on the right? Are those really SG models?

The middle console OK! but the odometer colour looks a bit off. Not that kind of blue I see in the internet. Seems more like greeny blue. Hope they don't gimp too many of the stuff and keep the price for 2.0 at RM120k or less.

It is not just a sunroof that is offered in the Sonata YF. It is a panoramic roof and offering that in Malaysia will give the Sonata a lot of bragging rights over its competitors.

i hav no idea, but according to the post creator, he is a Hyundai SA at JB, and he went to SG to take the pics during the time it's launched.
Odometer stilll acceptable but did u feel the middle console lights is too much and affecting our eyesight ? Well, what i am waiting now is the price. hopefully high spec will be under 130k or even lower... smile_big.gif
