Fatty donald quack jayraptor,

Nah, just admit that you are still bitter with Nissan for choosing a car like Sentra without ABS. Well, you should just blame yourself for the fault instead of saying bad things about any car. Remember, you were all praises for the Sylphy before you got the N16 (check your buku Sejarah). Do u want to edit your historical replies??? smile_tongue.gif By the way, selling a Toyota is much easier than Mitsubishi. smile_big.gif You don't need to explain because everyone knows what u are up to. rolleyes.gif In fact, I don't feel like digging all your previous replies because that will further embarass you (still not too late for u to do some correction on those replies). But, I just hope u are more consistent and impartial in your opinions.

Miki Mao & Popcorn,

Time to provide lesson on materials costing. Ever wonder why Sylphy 2.0L could sell at the price of Altis & Civic 1.8L category?

1) It cost less to stretch or heighten a car
than...
2) to increase the width of a car

Say if you take the N16 chasis, stretch it to have 2700mm wheelbase and 1510mm height, you'll get the Sylphy without involving higher cost. Then most of the parts just share with Latio especially Torsion beam, suspension arms, drive shaft, CV joint, bearing, etc. The seats especially rear aren't even inclined backward seats that let you make use of the ample legroom. You sit even more upright than in Civic with much less legroom.

To increase the width, you'll have to come up with new drive shaft, axles front & rear, windtunnel testing, wider rear seats, etc. By overall, incurring cost is much higher in wider car than a narrower car with stretched limo body. The axles & stabiliser bar especially are made of higher grade composite metal.

So whenever you see any car with narrow width, it's a sign that the carmaker is trying to minimise cost & maximise profit. So don't be fooled. Some more just give you rear drum brake for over RM100k? Stretch it, just have to add in more cloth, wrappings & optional to give you better seats or cost cutting average thigh support sitting upright seats.

Lancer by overall gives you more materials, quality and technology than in empty stretched limo Sylphy. Looks like they just stretch my N16 like how they stretch Saga Limo. Lancer GL at RM112k is considered something real great buy compared to Sylphy. Altis is just safe buy, sometimes need to criticise it to force UMW to bring in 2ZR-FE dual VVT-i engine for its facelift next year.

Have you read review on Forte? If not, do so especially from CBT & Mail Motor last week. It mentioned that its rear could fit 3 fullsize 1.7m tall adults comfortably. No need to buy MPV just to sit 5 adults comfortably as popcorn said. I got the N16 b4 Sylphy appeared. The kaw kaw test on Sylphy was conducted b4 I found out the N16 has no ABS. It was the handling vs between Civic, Sylphy & Satria Neo, sorry to say Sylphy scored lowest.

It seems that based on your reply that the panel of judges of Autocar must be stupid by choosing Sylphy as the winner of the best car award. Ok, I guessed I have to respect your very personal opinion that the Lancer and Altis the winners of Fatty Jayraptor Best Car Award for year 2009. smile_big.gif By the way, which is the champion???? smile_tongue.gif

But I do agree with you that the handling of the Sylphy scored the lowest compared to Civic and Satria Neo. The Sylphy might not be a car that suits your preferences, but at large it would fit into the demand of most family members who yearned for a quiet and comfortable ride. No people with the right mind will make the Sylphy as a Sports Sedan without any modifications to the suspension and tyres. The Sylphy is marketed as a FAMILY SEDAN not a sports car! How many times have this fact been repeated to bring up your little senses you had schla01.gif I know you are still bitter with Nissan for your foolish decision, but please don't act like a sore thumb. Well, u still can sell your N16 for the Forte or Cruze.

Generally, people are not really interested in the cost cutting measures of car companies. More importantly is whether those measures directly affect the worthiness of the product which might impact their purchase decisions. Let me tell u, all car companies will look forward to offer the best product to meet the mkt. demand at the minimum cost. Don't tell me that Mitsubishi and Toyota don't do that (so it boils down whether u are bothered by the measures taken). For example the new Altis is having the same engine, transmission and chassis as the previous generation which was launched more than 5 years ago. Not much changes except to the exterior and some interior design. Don't you think there is even more cost cutting or savings in this respect?

If u hate the Sylphy then don't buy it. (But you are all praises for the model until you found out that your N16 doesn't come with the ABS smile_big.gif ).Anyway, u are still not qualified to teach us on material costing when the fact you have grossly missed out the business objective.Business is not only about product. Do you know what is the meaning of customer satisfaction? smile_approve.gif

Please learn to be humble when the fact you know just so little about the automotive industry and the direction they are going. Well, I can't stop you from bragging. It's your right anyway.

Miki Mao & Popcorn,

Yes, people don't mind cost cutting but not the the extend of overdo. With that Sylphy's width, you'll get to cut real much materials to produce 1 compared to Altis & Civic under C-segment. You are like stretching the B-segment into C-segment length, use back all the same thing from B-segment and sell it at the price of C-segment. Do u think this worth it? I don't have hatred towards Sylphy. It was you 2 who hated the end results from the handling & performance, practicality & interior space wise report.

Yes, if you sales people know anything about materials costing, you won't really blast my comments. Tell me, what is the most expensive thing in assembling cars besides engine & gearbox. Check with your CKD department. Also regarding costings, you'll need to check with materials department as well. Else, you will only counter me with empty words.

Forte here already, you 2 already visit Kia showroom and look for flaws? Do disguise well or people will notice that you are from competitors.

Sorry fatty jayraptor, I am neither a car sifu nor from any automotive players. I am just a happy owner of the Sylphy and Civic. So, I consider myself a more qualified person to talk on the cars than a car salesman like you. So, now you are with Naza Kia now? I hope I can get those material costing myself. Whether the Forte comes with any major flaws now is not really my concern. You should put those words with future Kia owners. By the way, will I be expecting to see you in one of the Naza showrooms? rolleyes.gif

Please don't make up stories that I hate the Sylphy smile_angry.gif (yes, please prove that will you). You will be doing yourself a great favour by preserving the little dignity you still have. By the way, do you want me to dig out all your contradictory statements about the Sylphy to show what you are up to? You should just learn to be humble and admit that your opinions are not necessarily right.

This person is only a salesman. Probably most of the points and specs were picked up from the sales training manual. If you observe him further, he just can't back up his claims at all.
