I agree with mubull, somehow those Compact Fluorescent Lamps does not reveal defects. I tried mine without a reflector in darkness and it doesn't reveal defects. A normal incandescent is much better and can reveal swirls and holograms. Try using a reflector and see if it helps.
A meta-halide is a good light to have to reveal defects

, better than halogens in my experience.
About raining, I enjoy driving in the rain, even before I got into detailing. Don't know why, just a 'feel' haha! With a detailed car, there's even more reason to drive in the rain, and watch those beads fly!

i see i see...meta is different from downlight...must look up the web what is it. meta-halide lights.
i sometimes catch myself looking in the side rearview mirror too much. looking at the reflection of the car

and vx55 is right. it is fun driving in the rain sometimes. seeing the water run up the windscreen or roll down when it never did that on a nonpolished glass. and also seeing that after rain, dont see much or any rain drops dry on the car. they all roll down. cannot stick to the car. to me thats beauty...

Bro Jackson,
your Detailing-oholic is something like kaki pancing one.
To me it is better then kaki pancing because sure can see result where else pancing no gaurantee...

my pancing already kena?
no lah bro... just want to share my oholic-ism

sometimes i notice threads i start get 'hijacked' by kaki pancing one... but i dont mind. as long as my goal to start any thread is fulfilled. which is most of the time to find out about things.... hmmm...that makes me more like a spy-detailer; to quote a reknowned detailer here

hope you dont mind i use that term too.

Today washed my light green colored car with the rm4.90 Carrefour MF wash mitt. For its price, I like it. I'm going to buy 10 more. Anyone knows how to can ask for bulk discount from Carrefour? My wife also wants to use it for her household cleaning purposes. Is easier for her than having to deal with cloth to wipe, clean windows, grill, furniture, etc.
