Always read ppl writing good things abt meg. So far in my limited experience, after experiencing my meg21 disappearing in the rain, i've been disgusted wit meg & stopped using them. Just can't help it.

Yup, not happy with the durability of MG#21. Lucky for me, manage to finish 3/4 of my 1L bottle of MG#21 better the formulation broke up (turned to paste and water). Anyway, lucky you sold them off......

Mayb my car too new that time, the thing can't stick to my paintwork tongue.gif I sold it off after 1 use haha.. Anyway, is the finger test a good indication of whether wax is still on the paintwork ? I mean if it squeks, that means no more wax ?

Nothing to do with your new car paint. Like what bro. kris mentioned, it is the surface prep. New or old, surface prep is the most important. Wax and sealant is just to protect what you have shined up, and what you shine is your surface prep.
>>>When it squeaks, no more wax<<<
Not necessary. Some says after your wash, when you dry the car, is the cloth dirty? If yes, then really no more wax. If still clean, then there is still protect as dirt is not sticking on.
When you do you shampoo wash, makes sure the dilution is correct. Too light and it would clean. Too strong and some wax will go with it and you may get the squeaky panel.
I have tested many dilutions and the problem is different shampoos comes with different strength therefore the dilution is different. You will have to test it out with the shampoo you are using. Since you are getting the squeaky feeling, maybe you should dilute your shampoo strength further......

I missed out some posting again.. haha did not read all and normally just read the last few posting unless got time.

Surp prep are important but I also notice LSP does changed the look of the car ..some give shine ..some give more depth ..some slick ...some not as slick even is a boutique wax ..To me DG's lsp are very slick and wet look .

So find a lsp tht suites your taste loh.

not Neccesary ..e.g .. I tested Enviro Shield for my fren's Latio Sedan Boot. I compound then polished the boot with RB prior LSP.. so half with his Turtle wax and the other half with ES. After 2 months, we chk on the boot again and found minimal water mark edging on ES and the other half hv plenty .. Of course the Swirls are back again. He is a person tht dun wash his car and normally he schedule a weekly bangla's wash .. car full with swirls and water mark edging. Upon rinsing the boot, I noticed the water beading for both are gone but the ES session still sheads a bit... Of course not slick either. So ES panel still protecting. Another e.g .. After month plus, the DG 105 panel not really slick but still beads.

VR, hv a point there ..play with your dillution and of course make sure your dillution still strong enou to clean.

Just my personnal finding.

DG521 - RM48 650ml
DG921 - RM?? 473ml

What are the differences or similarities?

Which Meguiars product is it comparable to? QD, Last Touch, M34? Or in between?

I am made to understand Presta Spray-N-Shine is in between QD and M34. That one comes in 22oz size. Which is 650ml.

hi maddy,
thanks for the response.

i guess #521 is from the RV range. While #921 is from normal range. that may be why #521 has better cleaning props. from the international duragloss site, seems price is only few US cents different.

the 521 stated

Duragloss Marine & R/V Detail Spray is a high lubricity quick detailer that removes dust, oil, bird droppings, soil and water lines quickly, without removing the protective polish. It is designed to remove surface contaminants while maintain and restore gloss and slickness, and leaves a protective barrier that bonds with durable waxes and sealants to enhance shine and durability.

Yup, sort of a Jack of all trade....ha! ha! You will see me in Tyre & Wheel, Auto Maintenance, Car Modification, Oil and Additives and also Parts and Accessories Thread...... smile_tongue.gif
In Auto Detailing, have been trying all sorts, but mostly OTC products until a few years back started on MG, and a bit of this and that. Now trying out DG...... smile_big.gif

DG Malaysia website is up.... www.duragloss.com.my

Learn more about the products and application steps......... smile_thumbup.gif

Maybe I will list down some basic steps which will be easier rather than keep emailing... Bros here can share with their own or new technique as well.

501->601->601->105/trackclaw

Step1 Paint cleaning with 101/501 AIO

Damp the MF Applicator Pad with filter water. Pour a 5-10-cent size amount of product to MF Applicator Pad, try to use Straight Line method and avoid circular motion to reduce marring for all products. A thin layer, hazy and cloudy effect is good enough. Don’t use too much force to apply unless for removing stubborn stains.

You can do another round of polish with 101/501 if you noticed the paint is still dirty because 101/501 will improve clarity of your paint. After that, proceed to next area without buffing off because you can complete the whole front area to save your time. The 101/501 will turned haze after about 5-10 mins and it is ready to buff off, you can even leave it on for another 1-2 hours before buffing off. YOU ARE DONE NOW.

Step 2: 601 Paint Bonding Agent. This is an OPTIONAL step that you can do if you have the time. Pour a 10-cent size amount of 601 to a MF Applicator Pad and do a quick wipe on those panels that you want to detail in Step 3 . 601 PBA are transparent and you might not see the hazy or cloudy effect.

The 10-cent size amount of 601 can work on an estimated 2 feet x 2 feet panel. You just need to wipe and glides a thin layer of 601 over to paint surface without much pressure. NO need to buff off

STEP 3: 105 TPP/Trackclaw Sealant Protection.

Use 5-10-cent size amount of product is good for 2 feet x 2 feet panel. Apply onto panel with thin layer, cloudy and hazy effect is good enough. Allow time to haze for about 10 mins and you can start buffing-off with MF Cloth. You can also apply to the whole car before buffing-off to save more time. If you prefer to apply 2 layers of 105/TC, please allow 4 hours curing time before the next layer. With 2 layers, you will gain more protection and deeper in color.
