#501 is quite similar to #101..#101 is a very first product made by DG and #501 is lately targeting Marine/RV users. #501 does have a better cleaning than #101 and is slightly durable than #101..I have both in SG reason being there will be user who might worried Marine products are too harsh and also not all marine products are suitable for automotives.

As for AW..shake it well before use it.

and oso... do your work while the car or panel has cool down. People tend to forget bout this.

Hi,

I had the chance to try out some DG AquaWax on a whole ride during the last weekend....previously I also have had some small sample of the DG 'Quick Detailer' for testing. My first impression is that the AW seems to have the same scent as that of the DG QD. So, I wonder if they are of the same product. rolleyes.gif Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any sifu here has encountered this similarity before also?

I am actually still not quite sure about the functional difference between a 'quick wax' and 'quick detailer' products in the market, sometimes they appear to do the same thing or produce the same (positive) effects. smile_big.gif

In any case, I'm satisfied with the AW end results...deep colour look with no streaking....although it feels less slick as compared with the Meg's UQD and UQW. Since it's been sometime already since I applied the UQW, I will see if I can do another round of it this coming weekend to compare the AW with the UQW again. smile_tongue.gif

Always read ppl writing good things abt meg. So far in my limited experience, after experiencing my meg21 disappearing in the rain, i've been disgusted wit meg & stopped using them. Just can't help it.

More choices are always good for the consumers....IF the products are 'good', reasonably priced and easily accessible. smile_tongue.gif smile_thumbup.gif

Disappeared after one rain? I know it's not that good but it couldn't be that bad. Maybe it's your surface preparations. Meg's M21 is in the Mirror Glaze range and it's meant for professional use whereby machine polishing is the norm and a well prep surface is what m21 required to perform at it's best.

Give it another go, but this time try properly preping the surface by claying and do a bit of paint cleaning/polishing before applying the M21. Try it on a small section and see if it performed better. I know it's a bit of a hassle but that's why they are in the professional line of products, i.e. specific product to tackle specific situation, and there are specific steps that needed to be followed.

Meg's LSPs are also not very high in my expectations in terms of performance (except for M16), but I can't believe it's really that bad. The only thing for sure is how the pricing here are blown way out of proportions.

Regards.

Mayb my car too new that time, the thing can't stick to my paintwork tongue.gif I sold it off after 1 use haha.. Anyway, is the finger test a good indication of whether wax is still on the paintwork ? I mean if it squeks, that means no more wax ?

Quick Wax are topper where you more or less re-wax a layer of wax over your paint. Quick detailer are more for cleaning or wiping of light dust. As for UQD is Meg's special QD formulation that leave a synthetic coating where it help beads water very efficiently.
As for my test, I find that even though UQD beads better, DG Aquawax is smoother and sleeker to the touch. Maybe our panels are different, but for best result test the smoothness/sleekness after a few applications. Even better if you can apply half the car with AW and half with UQD, that will best. If you test one round of AW and then one round of UQD, your do not remember the sleekness of the first one when testing the second one. Moreover if AW over UQD or UQD over AW, how to tell which is effective??
