Hi,
I had the chance to try out some DG AquaWax on a whole ride during the last weekend....previously I also have had some small sample of the DG 'Quick Detailer' for testing. My first impression is that the AW seems to have the same scent as that of the DG QD. So, I wonder if they are of the same product.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Any sifu here has encountered this similarity before also?
I am actually still not quite sure about the functional difference between a 'quick wax' and 'quick detailer' products in the market, sometimes they appear to do the same thing or produce the same (positive) effects.
In any case, I'm satisfied with the AW end results...deep colour look with no streaking....although it feels less slick as compared with the Meg's UQD and UQW. Since it's been sometime already since I applied the UQW, I will see if I can do another round of it this coming weekend to compare the AW with the UQW again.
Quick Wax are topper where you more or less re-wax a layer of wax over your paint. Quick detailer are more for cleaning or wiping of light dust. As for UQD is Meg's special QD formulation that leave a synthetic coating where it help beads water very efficiently.
As for my test, I find that even though UQD beads better, DG Aquawax is smoother and sleeker to the touch. Maybe our panels are different, but for best result test the smoothness/sleekness after a few applications. Even better if you can apply half the car with AW and half with UQD, that will best. If you test one round of AW and then one round of UQD, your do not remember the sleekness of the first one when testing the second one. Moreover if AW over UQD or UQD over AW, how to tell which is effective??
