The checking will be done at BB Glenmarie or Volcare? As I know, previously all must go back to Glenmarie to check again. Then comes the epic story which can span multiple series...

fren dont scare me la............ the checking will be done in Volcare it self...... what ever came after that , if i need to use the back door then i will use........

i'll wait and see first........ just hope it will be in an acceptable time frame.........

Ain,

RM212 sound very very reasonable for all the parts, diagnose and jobs done. This is an authorised SC.
The best thing, they actually treat you nicely. Hard to get that nowadays. Priceless....

When KS was small and located in deep, remote location, almost at the end of Jalan Empat (off Jln Chan Sow Lin), they were something like this also. That's why i frequent them. Beside C&C is always 'busy'. Now they are much much bigger and several new implemented rules are disappointing. But rules are rules. Luckily, some of the old hands there are still approachable. And good that they expand their operations hours. Win win solution.

inter........Thanks to you for your suggestion........... looks like it will be my 1st choice SC........... The supervisor had already taken note of my car and advise to call him whenever i need their service/advise so that he can sort of give extra attention.....

If they allow checking at Volcare or other authorised SC, then smile_thumbup.gif
Previously, problem? Please go back to Glenmarie.
When you go to Glenmarie, they need to check again. One of it was check and inform by KS, have to go back to Glenmarie BB, bla bla bla, have to check again; usually end up nothing wrong, or this part cannot claim (wear and tear).
I'm not sure if really nothing wrong, hope it's really nothing wrong as if later after sometime, really is a problem, then they tell me, sorry bang, ni parts waranty sampai xxx saja. Wah sterb324.gif sterb292.gif
But if really nothing is wrong, then OK la, but who can give assurance? It's just word of mouth?
KS mentioned about my steering column or something, but since they can't do warranty? They ask me go Bluebox Glenmarie, but turn out to be nothing?
One mechanic at Geot Auto recently said my Crankshaft Pulley lifespan is up? Ask me change new for RM5XX not include labour yet. Went Glenmarie, say warranty is 40,000KM or 2 years, my car almost 2 year, so let them check. Said nothing wrong? Is it true? I don't know, why the other mechanic tell me it's lifespan is up? I don't know? I'm confused and lost.
Another mechanic (other SC) check also said no problem? But he only see from on top of the engine. Geot Auto one he jack up and check, and show me/explain to me the thing with his hand touching. smile_dead.gif
It's it really got problem, and something happen. Who should I blame?
Or if lucky nothing bad happens, but I need to change it but mosy probably the warranty is already over. Who to blame?
sterb324.gif sterb292.gif sterb324.gif

Now can just double-triple check again and confirm it's OK and pray hope it's really OK. teu30.gif

andy,

When thing like happen it really make us sick. Mine i thing is quite straight forward and can be trace after diagnose . Just that they want to double confirm. But yours sure pening kepala. So many opinion from different people and don't really know which one we can rely on. What ever it is let prey for the best and hope they can confirm what really need to done and rectify it if necessary......

what i normally do.......after getting a diagnose from one SC i will ask for a written note so that i can show it to who ever that is handling the waranty claim. At least by looking at the dealer/SC note they will take it seriously rather than passing remark nothing wrong with the item. This is exactly what i do yesterday. I make sure Volcare put it in writing and ask a copy of the job sheet for my record. So far after receiving their call this morning i thing i can rely on them. Let see what's next.

Allow me to share one of service that i did last year.
Done it more than 1 year ago.
Its for my 120,000km service done at 106,400km (actual mileage).

my car service cycle is 20K km. but i never waited until 20K km. that why the actual mileage is quite far from 120K km.

12th Service 120,000km (did it at 106,400km) 24 June 2008

Kheng Soon Bluebox (Jln Chan Sow Lin) - yes, i still go to authorised SC for oil change service.

TOTAL 9000SM Fully-Synthetic 4L 15W-50 - RM165 (bring my own)
Oil filter, washer, labour and 5% service tax - RM100.55

Total: RM265.55

This is my 160,000km service done at 135,030km (actual mileage).

note: service cycle is 20K km. but never waited until 20K km. that why the actual mileage is quite far from scheduled km.

16th Service 160,000km - 1 July 2009

Timebomb Auto - first time doing oil change service at non-authorised SC.

TOTAL 9000SM Fully-Synthetic 4L 15W-50 - RM170
Oil filter - RM35
Fuel filter - RM40
Pollen filter - RM57.25
Washer - n/a

Labour - RM15

Total: RM317.25

All genuine Peugeot parts.

Without the pollen and fuel filter, overall cost will be cheaper by around RM45 compared to servicing at KS Bluebox (but the washer wasn't changed/charged). So, by servicing outside, it is as if getting the fuel filter for free.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Timing belt + Water pump change

Next, during the same day, also changed the timing belt and water pump.

Timing belt - RM189
Water pump n ring seal - RM322.47

Sub-total - RM511.47
Labour - RM235

Total - RM746.47

If buy the parts above at authorised SC, the price will be around the region of RM630 (estimate only - price range during C&C time. Should be more expensive now).
Labour at authorised SC could be around RM250~RM300 (again this is an estimation).

would be glad if anyone could share their experience about timing belt change cost at authorised SC.

Note: Rollers wasn't changed. Only due during next timing belt change cycle. The changed water pump seem to be in good condition. Changed as preventive maintenance measurement.

All genuine Peugeot parts.

Helloo all,

Done my 40 K service at VOLCARE, jalan embun. Here is the breakdown:

Engine Oil - Total Semi Synth - RM 96
Oil filter - RM 53
Valve cover gasket - RM 69.5
Spark Plugs - RM 53

40K inspection labor - RM 60
Renew Valve cover gasket - RM 30
Renew Spark plugs - RM 20

Grand Total RM 387.00

Damm waste my money again. I was told that my valve cover is leaking therefore they recommend me to change the gasket. Im sure its not major leaking but what the heck they said the gasket is only RM 69 .Then I discovered from the receipt they add the labor another RM30, that is already RM 100 on top of the regular service. I totally forgot about labour charge.

One thing about Volcare is that they spray inside my engine hood (electrical part covered) with water! Then blow off the water with high pressure air. Damm i am not sure what they did that. It was too late for me to tell them since I was looking at other car at that time.

They also have a laptop equipped with the usb or some port connected to scan faults on your car as well. Although I am not sure the mechanic in charge knows what he is doing. Since he just want to clear all the faults. Oh and if your passenger airbag is deactivated then you will get a fault as well.

Otherwise, the service provided is way better than Bluebox. The staff is very friendly. On weekends it will be crowded a bit according to a guy there. If there are not that many cars, im sure for a regular oil change job it will take you about an hour or less. Definitely will go there again.

I am staying in Damansara area and travelled all the way to KL and took the elevated highway AKLEH to reach there. I forgot that I can use DUKE highway instead. Will use DUKE next time to go to Volcare.

By the way, anybody changed spark plugs on their own? I am just wondering for the 206, can you use a regular spark plug cable since there is this black plastic thing that connects the spark plug to the -- distributor or whatever.

Look like volcare part pricing is very similar with the rest of the authorised SC.
Maybe price control by Nasim already? do they have to get stock from Nasim or can source themselves?

Kinda disappointed with the labour charge-as-per-job thing. Its expected but ..
Open/change valve cover gasket & sparky pluggies they charge labour RM30+RM20 = RM50.
Well .. RM110 just for upah kerja to change oil, filter, spark plugs and valve cover gasket does seem pricey, doesn't it?

Outside workhops would just charge around RM30 (max RM50 for this I guess).

but again, shouldn't compare authorised SC and workshop biasa.

For me, everyone love saving... so, if can go to the cheaper one w/out risk of voiding warranty etc etc, then why not?
