Well, it's my responsibility to put in the effort to write. At the end of the day, it's up to you whether to read or not.
I can only hope to consistently produce work of high standard, and consequently attract a strong following of readers.
I see a long road ahead.

Thanks!
It does help that I came from the other side of the fence i.e. the reader. I have been avidly reading TGM and Autocar, and I draw heavy inspiration of their writers - local and international.
I read Jeremy Clarkson's writings on CBT weekly without fail, and my initial works admittedly were modelled after his. However, the local audience are not so receptive to the sarcasm which is his trademark, so I've since toned down on it.
The playing field in Malaysia is slightly different in the sense that we need to also maintain a good relationship with the manufacturers. As a result, my criticisms has to be worded in a constructive way, so that we do not come across as being arrogant and at the same time not cheat our readers.
For my first few reviews, you would probably see that I'll be giving reasonably positive verdicts for most cars, as I am still relatively unexposed to higher-end vehicles. I have driven Mercedes and Bimmers since my days in uni, but those just brief public test drives.
At this stage, I do need a lot of practice, and a lot of exposure, both in getting the attention of the various PR people (this is to ensure I get the invites to all events) and also in experiencing the drives of various vehicles (this is, of course, to ensure I deliver better balanced verdict to you guys!)

If u have read TGM July review on the Citroen Picasso, it seems that they did not proof read it before publishing. It really an embaressment to TGM stature.
Yes, I notice is balancing act in doing review here in Malaysia and I guess you need the cars to be reviewed so you got to toe the line. The manufacturer may just boycott
Moreover due to the tax structure, choice of cars in Malaysia are limited. There is not much review can be done locally, is always repeated review unless there are new launch.

I just re-read the piece you mentioned. It's a little shocking, to be honest.
You are right on the choice of cars here. Which is why mags like Evo, Autocar and TGM always have the Brit writers doing all the supercars, while the local writers do the average sedans from Honda, Toyota and Proton.
Some people have remarked to me, before I made this career switch, that there isn't much opportunities as a motoring journalist here compared to in Europe. We don't get to drive cars as fancy as they do, nor do we get paid as well. Nevertheless, I see it as a challenge whereby I'll need to be even more creative with my ideas to shine.
