Yosha..you must also get the axles and have it change at the same time. The gear ratio are different for 1000cc and 660turbo. The rest is preety straight forward.

It means you have to use the axles off the 660 turbo also. If not, you car will be under power. You can try use the original axle first but if not enough power, then use the 660 turbo axle. Just made sure when you buy half cut, it include the axle.

Hello everybody, my name is Colin, a new proud owner of a year 2000 Suzuki Jimny metalic green. I bought it from my brother in Kuching n will be shipping it over hopefully after CNY. Since I got it very cheap, the initial plan was to sell it in KL but after playing around with it(onroad n offroad).........never!! It's a keeper!
It's in pristine condition except the brakes need some repair. So far within next week, I'll have the front disc skimmed, brake pads replaced.

The brake servo n master pump has been replaced with a Honda Civic unit but the problem now sometimes the pedal goes down too deep b4 the brake work. This is only an intermittent problem. The system has already been bled but the problem still persist. I suspect either the front caliper slide pins is/are stuck or one or both rear slave pump is leaking air. Any idea?

The 4wd gear stick wouldn't stick to 4Low. It will spring out to neutral with enough vibration. Does anyone know what the problem is?

Ok, enough about the car. Some of u r familiar, tsleong etc. I've been active in the Feroza forum...being the only Jeeper there. I'm currently driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee for my offroad trips with my family. Much TLC have been put into the car so It will never be sold. Standard offroad upgrades has been done to the car, 4" suspension lift, jerrycan carrier, winch and a dual battery setup......yadda, yadda, yadda....

Since space is a constraint in d Jimny, I'll turn it into my daily ride coz the family daily ride(an MPV) is cloccking too much kms....hence higher maintenance. I plan to just lift it up a bit, maybe 2"-3" to fit max 30" equivalent-sized tyres for some mild offroad, maybe a winch next time.

Anyway, nice to meet u all n hopefully can join some excursion.....

Yosha,

4k is too expensive for half cut. I got mine for RM400 but it is not halfcut, just engine, gearbox plus wiring and ECU. For that price, just go for vitara half cut, it is about 3k.

Colin,

Your problem with the brake lies in the adjustment of the rear drum shoes. It had been worn out and need to travel a lot to reach the drum. Need to readjust or change new shoe and readjust.
As for the transfer, need to open up and see or the mounting is bad.
