Just like an example in my case, try to use a cheap imitation link rod, it just broke into 2 pcs within a day, got to take the ori stock, then no problem. but pay through the nose too!!!

Personally I prefer to get the whole pinion. Happenned to me twice, mechanic said o.k. with the kit, but twice I tried, on two different Xantias, both failed, end up paying more....hai ya....only 50-50 chance to me.

my xantia last for almost 5 years by repair the kit.If that car was not burned, i believe the pinion still in good condition.

good review
Congratulations on your Xantia. Good luck on keeping her.
I want to point out that it is difficult to compare these two old cars. Ive sat in many Xantias and most of them felt inferior to mine...noise pollution, noisy engine, not so soft. So while your review might be right, there is a chance you have compared a good Audi to a not so good Xantia. Generally speaking Citroen owners have a very cheapskate mentality while most Audi owners are very particular to details. Just thought I should point that out.
Enjoy that Xantia. I have loved driving it every single day for the past 5 years, I hope you do too
There is no easy way out if you want to keep your Citroen in perfect shape. Preventice maintenance is the way to go

thank for your support, I'm glad we get another DIY forummer here so that we can exchange our knowledge and share it to citroen community. This is to create awareness on our vehicle and also to reduce chance a car breakdown in the middle of trip. If you want to buy xantia, please hurry because the price range right now is from 6k-10k which is great bargain for me.
I just want to sharing on what happen with my car today, before going to work suddenly i feel to check my car so i pop up the bonnet and found out that my radiator have a big leak. Water tank also empty. So tomorrow i plan to unplug my radiator and see what i can do, maybe can send it to radiator specialist ... if i'm not lucky i need to buy new radiator or second hand radiator (already asking chop shop and find out that xantia radiator out of stock) anybody here know where citroen/peugeot chop shop. Already check in batu cave and none found.

wow, congratulation with your new xantia. good condition xantia must feel like in sampan or floating.. if not you need to check your system such as height from ground to body and sphere (pressure regulator also play some role here).
Because the radiator potong price is quite high, around RM 350 - RM 400 ( getting higher compare last 2-3 years, maybe the stock almost depleted), i manage to go radiator service shop and ask them to service my radiator. The problem is, the clip which is tight the radiator was made from alloy. the common problem with alloy is they cannot be bend or straightened (kalau dah lama sure dah reput). the only option available for me is by making one new housing using copper. And thank god, this shop can do customization with low price. They quote me RM 220 for one side (include servicing) and need 1 day to complete it. For me this is better option because we knew that radiator in top condition after removing all the karat inside the radiator plus new customize housing made by copper. The advantage using this housing compare with original is, i can service whenever i like without breaking the housing. The original was made by fiber and there is no way we can welding if bocor happen within the housing.
Please take a look at picture below
Customize radiator left side
custome made was spray with silver color while the original one is in black color
