my family has a triton, and we did not use turbo timer on it, I don't really think we need a turbo timer although our engine is turbo-charged. Adding a turbo timer might prolonger the engine lifespan...

I think any chapalang turbo timer will do, last time bought a RM90 turbo timer on a N/A car for fun haha

i think ur santa FE still under waranty? if putting a Turbo timer worry u will void ur warranty, better check with ur SC before adding something on it, since they will cut some cable on ur ignition to connect with Turbo Timer. U can always manually do a turbo timer , before reach destination about 2-5Km, lightly press on thottle, this way also will cold down ur turbo. Just my 2cents

Opening the throttle is to prevent from overheating. Is a quick cooling process and instantly expose the turbo to room temperature. (imagine you dip a very hot metal into a bucket of water).

Turbotimer is to delay the engine shut down, and pro-long the cooling process to reach room temperature. (slower cooling process).

I don't think you need one coz the engine already comes without turbo-timer... unless you modified and increase the boost..
I'm not sure about this but maybe your engine is already fitted with oil cooler.. dismissing the need for timer..

May I know how long do you have the Triton to make that statement?
I prefers to use my head than follow the crowd. After all, it is my money and not theirs.

I hv 2.5CRDI Sorento with turbo timer installed by manufacturer. The car did put sticker on driver door to mention if you car drive >80km/hr for long hour need to idle for 1-2minute b4 turn off the engine to let turbo de-energized. If u don't hv timer yourself can be timer by let engine run idle for a while b4 stop. smile_cool.gif smile_big.gif
