Hi everyone,
I'm the owner of TD97. The problem is not about the clutch cable but seem it looks like this section is more active than another so i just enter to have your opinion. My problem is about gearbox, can't swift gear 1 and 2 but we still drive using gear 3 and move to 2 and back to 3. The engine is still in a good condition with syiiiok sound of turbo

.
We want to change another petrol engine and auto that is maybe citroen zx, xantia or peugeot 405. This is b'coz our TD is lazying climbing the hill especially we r always using Gua Musang - Cameron Highland expressway. What do you think? The strength and weaknesses of doing this thing?

I too still syiook with this turbo diesel mpv, very economical. Last week the clutch cable snapped. Probably I've used it for too long. Now my synchromesh gears are not very good, except 1 and 2. I can still manage to engage into 3, 4 and 5 by pushing it very very carefully and slowly. Repairing the synchromesh can be very costly, I'm thinking of changing the engine to petrol, maybe even a camry or cefiro engine. Maybe we can start sharing ideas.

Yes, experienced the same thing when I owned the Citroen Evasion...cable
malfunctioned causing clutch damage...was advised by my mechanic to change
cable when change the clutch.
However, sold the the machine coz the clutch pedal was just too hard and
was horrible if stuck in jam...got the Bravo 1.4Tjet instead...but miss the
roominess of the MPV
Maybe will get one(MPV) sometime later...
I love the spacious interior but the heavy manual transmission really disappoint me. But according to carsurvey, this is one of the most reliable MPV...is it true?
Planned to own the Evasion but again the problem is with the MANUAL transmission. It's the driver age factor....hahaha.
As for you sir, what is your rating for Evasion.
Thank you.

If ur engine is a diesel unit, not advisable to change the engine without changing the gb as well; had TD97 changed to evasion engine before about 4 yrs ago but the gear ratio is not balanced, hence the fc suffers
