but actually no need to tie to pillar. The chain is long enough so you can chain two tyres together. Nonetheless, a bolt cutter could cut through those chains. Thieves could take off the tyre (with or without tyre lug locks) and replace them with a spare tyre (perhaps from your own trunk?!).
Scratches on the rim!

but still susceptible to be cut by bolt cutters, but advantage is:no need to find pillar to which to chain car.
Get a better padlock though. The one shown looks flimsy.

For the second pic, driving of wth the car will definately break the bumper and of the car continues to move, it may hit the undercarriage of the car.
