If it fits your budget and requirements, you can just ahead to get the current Camry (provided you can't wait for 2 years), but i think better get the 2.4V version as it comes with 5-speed auto (2.0L variant comes with 4-speeder).
Hi Jackson, ya, agreed. 2.4 is THE CAMRY to go for

, but I'll be getting the less muscular 2.0G as budget is the issue. On the other hand, the 2.0G after discounts is less than 150K, so I'll get a tax break.

Previous Camry also still have better market value (less depreciation in terms of %) compared to it's rivals (eg Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Mazda 6, and even Perdana V6)

even Perdana? ahem.... perdana is sort of bad that it does not deserve the "
even" adverb =D
i own on 2004 PV6 (facelift) now only worth around 40k.
Got it at 96k back then.... So it depreciate nearly 10k per year.
Now tempted to change car, view the new tucson and test drive twice. Almost wanted to buy but din like the engine rev which is rough. Now.. perhaps wait for Camry then.
wait and see, wait and see.... the current Camry is simply too generic.

Generic also reads as popular.
Popular translates to better resale value.
Popular also means there must be something right there, eg reliability, comfort, value etc etc.

Lower price? Nah..wait long long.
Price hike i guess everytime there's new facelift/model.
If you want price reduction in cars, vote for a new govt.

SXV10 - 1994 -> 1998 = 4 years +
SXV20 - 1998 -> 2002 = 4 years +
ACV30 - 2002 ->2006 = 4 years +
ACV40 - 2006 -> 2011 ?? = 5 years ??
So as far as the typical life cycle, I would think it would come in by then.

Should you WAIT for the 2012 Toyota Camry or BUY a PRESENT Toyota Camry???
WAIT for the 2012 Camry if you want the advances in features, fuel economy, and safety that come with an all-new design. Waiting for the 2012 Camry means your car’s styling will look current for several years, and it’ll be worth more at resale than the PRESENT outgoing Camry.
BUY a PRESENT Camry if you need a sound transportation value TODAY and don’t put a premium on the latest looks or technology. The PRESENT Camry still is an outstanding family sedan.
