My car's engine cover(front) color is getting 'less color', not sure why, and it looks bad now.
My friend told me if want to spray, I need to paint whole car with a different color.
And I cannot get back the original color.
Need advice on the estimate cost for spray whole car...or any good shop provide offer on this service?
Thanks.

Hmm...... Less color is due to oxidation. You might be able to bring back the gloss by compounding/polishing it. As to why only the front cover?? It might be because the paintwork on the bonnet is different from the doors/fenders.
Well what your friend say is not all true. Yes it's very hard to color match and that's why you're friend ask you to spray the whole car, but it can be 90+ % same which I think it's good enough. (This depends on the sifu working on the car)
Estimate cost vary from shops to shops. For a whole car (assuming sedan) It can be from RM1000 to RM4000, depends on what paint they use and their skills. And it also depends on your expectations.
Where is your location?

Thanks a lot hitachi,
my location is kl, Near to puchong/old klang road/subang/PJ.
My car is Wira Aeroback grey.
Expectation...hmm, if possible I want to paint the front cover with grey color.
And after paint, it looks 95% above simimar to orignal grey.
Now, my car front cover is grey + white(less color).
Any place can recommend? and what is the price?
thanks sifu.

I think one thing that needs to be considered is the condition of the rest of the car. if the rest of the car is also slightly worn out, but the bonnet is the worst, by spraying only the bonnet, then the bonnet will look new and may not match the rest of the car. It really depends on the overall condition of the vehicle.

He he.. another factor is $$$.. Will you be willing to spend 1-2K more just to match when other portion is ok? I did full respray on my wira last time when overall conditions of bonnett, roof & boot all have clearcoat failures.. A few years later when only the roof is problematic, I just did that..
Do confirm yours is clearcoat failure not just oxidation which polishing would improve.

Hmm...the car body color is maintain 90-95% new, just the front cover is having MIX color(grey+white spot).
Is it better to paint whole car? Because I read this forum, many ppl tends to say their wira skin is stained or having white spots/mark after several years.
It looks like the problem happens to wira/proton car only...Is this true??
Sifu advice pls.

If everywhere else paintwork still in shape, maybe just repaint the front hood will do. Rm400 can edi get a very good paint job compare to spent Rm2000++ to get a decent paintjob

Sifu g88,
Guess 'bonet' means the engine cover right?
I think only the front bonnet is having color problem, the rest are ok. Will try post a photo later.
I saw some advertisement selling bonet wira with cheap price around RM400 or lesser
Is that mean I can buy bonet front to replace it?
Is it better than painting?
Please advice...

You can try this place.
CMS
No. 8, 10, 12 Jalan USJ7/3,
UEP Subang Jaya
Their workmanship is quite good, prices aren't super expensive, but I would say it's above average la. Well maybe you can consult them regarding your car's condition.

Ok, great, will go the shop to ask.
Any idea what is the risk if I buy the bonnet front cover spare part and replace it?
cos it looks like a better option. Any hidden cost?
