somehow the end result is horrifying.

1. will massa be able to race again?

2. is the injury a temporary or permanent?

3. will ferrari get a temporary replacement driver until Felipe fully recovers?

4. Should Felipe not fit to race, who has the highest chances of taking his place? coult it be Fernando Alonso? Or Lewis Hamilton perhaps?

The replay of the accident scene is dem horifying. Within only few seconds after being hit by the object car crashed already.

All participants of motorsports accept that there's a certain degree of risk in the game. It's a work hazard that is now part of their reality.

Felipe was very unfortunate to be caught in such a freak accident. He was hit by an object on his head at 160mph (257kph), and his car slammed head-on to a tyre wall at 175mph (282kph). No safety feature could have accounted for the loose part springing out of Barrichello's car.

However, the fact that Felipe not only survived the crash, but that he's well on the road to recovery (though his career remains in doubt at the moment) shows the excellent crash engineering involved. There will be a safety inquiry on this for sure, and we can be certain that this incident would lead to even greater safety features and measure implemented for the sport in the future.

Autoworld wishes Felipe a quick and smooth recovery!

I think Felipe Masse will rejoin in the next Formula 1. He will get revenge after the accident happened. smile.gif
