Why Not So Many People Buying Ipsum?

Scouting for an mpv as family is getting larger. Have been reading here and there (even test drove some) and i think the one that suits our family is toyota ipsum. I think it's a great mpv, not so big like estima but generous enough with luggage space when all 7 seats are occupied. Nonetheless, not so many on the road if compared to other mpvs especially wish and estima. I wonder why? Too expensive?

to me, i think oklah... not so striking, very conservative. Not like Wish, more sportier.
I got a friend who own a 2.4 Ipsum. And he said the ride is very comfortable. Not regret buying it.

As a result, re-sale value for Ipsum some says not good.
I am one happy Ipsum owner. I purchased the car for functionalities, comfort, easy maintenance and affordability (in that order). I do not consider prestige, gadgets (power door), bigger size are necessary.
Yes, Ipsum is one comfort vehicle and cheap on petrol. 14km/litre on highway for 2.4cc MPV.

prestige is not on my mind either as long as that vehicle fits my (and family) requirements. Luggage space is one of them where many other mini mpvs cannot give what ipsum can give.
err are you saying the re-sale price for ipsum not that high? do you know of any owner who wants to let go theirs? don't mind to get the 2nd hand unit as long as it's in good condition (at least year 2001 and above)

Yes, indeed the consumption is pretty impressive, 14km/l. Mostly city driving or highway?

When I purchased my Ipsum, I only compared it with Wish. Brand new wish is around RM150k, brand new Ipsum was around RM250k (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong). I think Ipsum is a bargain because when you buy a recon unit the price is only RM10-RM25k difference. Ipsum is comparable to Oddysey. Won best MPV few times... see this in my blog. So, brand new price difference is about RM100k, why? Ipsum has -
- double blower
- bigger engine
- more comfort than Wish
- better finish
- can be considered 'world model' - sold in Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, UK
- better luggage space even when in full seating (even if compared to Estima)
Sorry, don't know any registered unit for sale. Naza is selling brand new Ipsum (2005 stock) for RM150k.

14km/litre is for highway.
Pickup - you guessed it right. I think power is more than enough.

Saw you blog, seems like no much problem when comes to servicing or even repair. But where does the workshop got the spare part? import or normal spare parts shop? or maybe the parts is shared with other toyota model? is the parts expensive?

What if somebody bang ipsum? Is there a reliable workshop out there that can get parts? As for now, tan chong has been doing a great job on my nissan with svc n parts. Guess, thats the risk we have to face when buying ap car
