Ngv Not Popular Anymore?

Dear all,

Eversince petrol drop till rm1.80, didnt hear any member discuss about NGV anymore???

I have a friend going to sell his car and wonder if I m interested in his NGV kit 65L at rm2500 including installation. he bought rm4.8k a year ago. Wonder what is the new kit? any problem to install the kit from his camry to my ford telstar? any comment?

Im NGV on myvi use mixer sys.

NGV mixer sys is not same size .

I would still say that NGV is still relevant. I was one of the poor rakyats who went to do the NGV conversion when petrol price shot up to RM2.70 a litre last year. Now my friends laugh at me now, seeing that the price of petrol has dropped considerably. But who's laughing now, since I can go to Melaka and back using only RM10 of fuel? (IN YOUR FACE SUCKERS!! tongue.gif)

As lwlty mentioned, the system might not be compatible with your Ford. Your friend's Camry should be using a sequential system for EFI engine, while your Ford might still be using a carburetor. (Correct me if I'm wrong) The only thing that can be brought over is the tank, which is good enough, since the most expensive part is the tank.

cookiemon: Hey im one of them too... When i did my conversion ..everyone's telling me how bad NGV can do to your enginer and yet none of them installed or have experienced it..everything was from hearsay...when petrol dropped...i was laughed at ..for foolishly convert..but I got the last laugh when i tell them that i can easily get RM10 - 200 km.,...that a new car can't even save this much....





As lwlty mentioned, the system might not be compatible with your Ford. Your friend's Camry should be using a sequential system for EFI engine, while your Ford might still be using a carburetor. That's where we need to step back. can you state the model of your FORD... Not all Ford's car have carb engine..FOrd focus are EFI engine..

Basically at 2500 ...i suspect the Camry's running Mixer on efi ..

So once you can find a good reputable installer like GT NGV ..then proceed to have them transplant to your engine..i would recommend that you also find out whether the tanks is bigger or smaller for your boot...as car differs.

I suggest that if you can fit in a bigger tank..u can sell the tank back to the installer to opt for a bigger tank..


Do remember to do an overhaul on your car cooling and electrical as well as engine before conversion as it could solve a lot of problems..

Remember to switch to better springs for your rear suspension to take in the extra weight of 70Kg..

Hehe, i posted since Jan 24, waited so long before the reply.....thanks a lot....still some NGV buddy out there.

Overhaul just to make sure that the engine is in tip top condition as after installation during tuning there wil be major problems that is caused by improper maintainence of the engine that acts up.
HEat generated from NGV is hottter than petrol and will definitely required a top condition cooling system...

Spring change at the back so that it can support a heavier tank so that when u carry people u will not be hitting the bottom of your car...

NGV kits have gone down a lot ..so do keep a lookout

I also need to change a few things after my change to NGV. I changed the entire cooling fluid (DIY, just 2 bottles of Toyota coolant, about RM40), spark plugs (also DIY, about RM20), rubber and spring for the back (RM200). Do you think it is that expensive? Just one month of using the NGV and you can already recover this amount.

it still makes sense to convert if heavy transportation users.. hybrid cars still need some time to mature

how old u car?

Y so faster change plug?

I m using mixer sys. on myvi 8mth(25k km) aldg. 1st time change plug & rubber spring must change cos cilnder berat ma.

for my infor. when ngv sys put in time all the NGV shop DONE ALL the thing termasuk plug,clean throel
