I own an XC90 T6 Manufactured 2004. Registered October 2004.
Last week, I received a Recall Notice from Volvo cars Malaysia for all
XC90s model year 2003-2005.

The notice stated.....

"The Outer Ball Joint Studs on the steering gear may fracture. If this
failure occurs during driving (when else?????) the you will notice that
the vehicle may be difficult to manoeuvre."

They offer to replace the Outer Ball Joint FOC.

This week I spoke to a friend who also has the XC90 from this time period
but he was unaware of the recall.

If you are an owner of an XC90 for this time period and have not received
this notice...do check with your sales agent/dealer.

On recall they just replaced the bits that are supposed to be faulty.
Only mods I have made was the installation of twin exhaust pipes. However
this required a trip to Singapore as no one in KL does it.
Pros: Looks good & sounds better.
Cons: Spare wheel needs to be removed & it becomes difficult to later fit
a tow bar.

u actually did the twin exhaust by heico?
did it in autovox?
was tempted for it, but was afraid of losing the spare tyre
so in the end just bought a set of 20" heico rims from them
the rest mods are volvo accesories

Yes. Had Heico twin exhausts done in S'pore by AutoVox.
It looks good. The deal comes with the foam compound and an electric pump
should you get a flat. However I still carry the spare on a roof box when
I do my long trips three or four time a year.

Mine was delivered with the recall notice Tongue
Not had the chance to get it done yet. Got a few things that needs to be
rectified, my power seat doesn't work, as does my sunroof.
Every now and then my climate control will freeze like a PC hanging.

I was speaking to a friend in England who owns an XC90 as well.. seems like
he ain't a happy owner. Take this.. it is a D5 model, they delivered it
with a full tank of fuel.. except instead of putting diesel.. they put a
full tank of petrol in it.

Volvo in Hong Kong where I am based in ain't that much better.

Eh.. PT also drive a XC90??

My friend is not a happy camper.. because it is his only vehicle and he has
to drive 90km each way to get to work as he lives in a rural area and works
in a city.

Actually out of curiosity, has anyone else been having problems with their
climate control unit?
