Knowing Waja`s strut bar will fit nicely onto S40 EXCEPT that it it being
blocked by the fuse box, has anyone here successfully installed one by
modifying either the strut bar or relocating the fuse boxes?

Probably modifying the fuse boxes. I got mine from turbo lim, and the
fuses boxes need modified by lowering it. Not sure about waja struct, but
mine after installed, the handling is far more firmer. Recommended.

even the original S40 strut bar package comes with an additional bracket
for the fusebox to make it (fusebox) lower a little bit

Have successfully fitted the after-market Waja's strut bar onto my S40 by
lowering the fuse box. Material + labour cost me RM80 only.
Like CityManiac said, the steering response is much sharper when
cornerning.
This is the most inexpensive and yet very effective mod so far on my S40 :)

Something to ponder, the classic S40 is a joint development by Volvo &
Mitsu. Interestingly, the Waja's strut bar fits very well on S40, which
makes me feel that Waja is not a genuine Malaysian designed car, rather a
copy from S40?

What do you think?

Waja is so common on our roads, you may easily get the strut bar at
accessories shop such as Brothers or any exhaust specialist.
Mod on lowering the fuse box is not a difficult job, the intaller should
know what to do.
Good luck! Let me know once you have done it.
