Hi friend, when are you coming down to JB ? I am using Shell Semi too.
Thinking Using Castrol Magnatac in my nect oil change. How often do you
have an oil change ? For my 740 it was recommended at 10,000km.

scenic,
How are you bro ?.
I use Castrol Magnatec, change between 3,000 km to 5,000 km (depends on
daily driving travel distance), though the recommendation is up to 10,000
km. Now already catched 4,200 km since last change, plan to flush it this
weekend.

Hi vol940,
I am fine here and going to keep my brick for a long long time after some
careful consideration. Was thinking that if I want to keep my brick long
enough may be I should change the oil more frequently like yours as most
of my distance clocked at city driving. So far, how you find magnatac's
performance and do you change the oil filter as well ?

scenic,
Just two weeks ago, before TT kuantan, travelled to Gemas via Alor Gajah,
I pushed easily to 200 km/h (3 pax onboard) just closed to WOT.
Considering that I use Michelin 91H, ...... takut .... nak teruskan. This
Michelin tire type allows me to 140 kmh of maximum speed (with full
loaded car of course). Plan to change GT Radial Tire with V or W speed
rating.
Regarding the oil filter, I always change whenever I change or flush the
engine oil. Before, I used BOSCH filter (RM35), but now with BLUE VOLVO
filter from spain or Belgium (just RM18).
Last raya, I travelled to JB, didn't know you at that time, next time
will call you.

JB still not in the pipeline for visit this or next month. will sure catch
u up for mamak when down. whatever km oil change they can advertise, my
personal is 5K every change cannot go wrong since i think our filter is
also 5-7K.
The advert on magnatech as a layman, my personal conclusion as flws:
if it really stick to metal like magnet(which is good), then whatever
deposit build up thru out the years will also likely stick to it. maybe
new car ok lah... but my perception is once any drainage churns out black
in colour...then i would not likely used magnatec. perhaps castrol in
reading care to change my perception. hehehe....

I always use semi-synthetic oil in my 940.
However, I do not stick to one brand. I will buy the oil which is on offer
with free gifts. I figures that since I need to chagne the oil, I might as
well get the free gifts that comes with it.
Change the oil and filter every 5000 Km without fail.
