A new CAT gonna cost me another RM4000 extra just for the CAT alone n the
one installed was left bits n pieces inside...so there goes
the 'TRAUMA"...if only they can make it cheaper than we all together can
make this world a better place to live.....as for the sound, for a
TURBOCHARGED car..not to worry too much as the sound be pushed away thru
the exhaust when u throttled down but again a good exhaust installer shud
give a better idea of what can be expected from a system but what I have
currently does sound like a Subaru IMPREZA WRX at a lower tone.

I agree with cap48 : Leave some "fresh" air for your future generations.

If the CAT doesn't have sensor connection to ECU, it is not necessary to
replace with ORI CAT. Try to get CAT from e-bay website ... cost as low
as RM80... just another solution.Smile

my dua sen input -

theoreticaly the cat is suppose to clean up the "exhaust" but after so many
years in service, i do not think it is still doing its job. so running
around with a faulty cat is as good as running around without a cat if not
worse. Anyhow, from what i have read, the output before the cat for the
850t5 is already suppose to be clean already but without the cat, at most
we release CO and whatever excess petrol fumes that did not get burned into
the air, which most cars are doing anyway. and further more we get some
extra ponies let loose from the pen.

No wonder so many volvo (in USA) failed for emission testing to renew
their road tax.

Here, waiting for law enforcement to get clean air for our future
generations ... but when ... don have idea. But at least thinking
positively to the environment awareness.

I agree with saving our environment. I think besides this there are many
other ways we are polluting it. The funny thing is, most government is
pro-environment but no action. Just look around the factories, etc. And
also the cars taht are still on the road that gives out a trail of white
smoke and not to mention the buses and lorries.

I wonder why if anything is good for the environment, it costs a bomb. It
should be friendly to the wallet as well, so more people will see an
advantage to it, right? Oh, by the way ah, USA is the world's biggest
polluter and they still have not managed to contain it.

Even the S70 Cat costs over RM1K. Still so many things to replace, how to
afford??? Even if we get it from e-Bay, what a re the chances that the Cat
will not feed our version of the car???

Now the exhaust a bit louder, like a sports car... Big Smile and better pickup
and smoother drive. No more sluggishness!! Feels a whole lot lighter now.

environment.

vol940:

I'm blur one. I just know the CC got sawn off and replaced with a
conventional one. How many silencer I am not sure, but the car sure sounds
louder and sportier than before.

Loud in terms of ???. Can you tahan the droning sound (low bass, if any)
during long outstation trips compares to original ? Is the exhaust air
cooler now ? How's the smell, better or worse ?
