my carburated 2.3l 240 top speed about 160km/h ler and i'm talking flat
land not downslope. even O/D on or off also 160km/h on AW71 gearbox.

240's cd is not very high as some might think. above 200km/h is no
problem for the 240. noise level might me high. however, feeling at that
speed is still stable as long as you done up the suspension. long sweeper
corner @ 180km/h still gripping well with no feeling of floatiness.

conclusion, 240 is stable.

pushed mine to 160 too on a flat road with no problem. i think if the
road was long enough i could've gotten it to 170-175. But the whole car
was vibrating and the wind noise was scary. Considering my baby is over
20 years old, i dont even go more than 130 now. Big Smile

170 tops...but 70 series tyres don`t inspire confidence above 140.

Thought of posting another thread...but since we're all here....

I've heard previously that N/A 240s can do 200km/h with some mild mods,
like exhaust, cam, air filter, porting and some other work here and
there. Anyone try this before and get to that magic figure?

What would we need to do to get this brick to 200? Or should we just
forget it and turbo the thing? Look forward to your feedback.

as for a NA 240 hitting 200km/h
i do agree its possible
gearbox is not the restriction
probably change the cams, port polish, exhaust, airfilter on a later 240
such as the SE or SE classic model. bcoz that model is able to hit
170/180km/h in stock.

but the time to get to 200km/h is more important than being able to hit
200km/h after 20minutes right Tongue if u're gonna cruise at anywhere near
200km/h betta make sure the suspension and tires are up for it. any
emergency and your 185/70/14 will not stop a 2ton beast 200-0km/h in time!
