hi.. i'm planning to upgrade my alarm system and asking for a few functions
from the new alarm. Most important is auto arming the car after leavint it
and auto lock the doors when step on the foot brake.. the rest like auto
start and vibration sensors are optional for me. Another thing is that it
is not easy to have someone with the same frequency transmitter with me.
i'm looking at the viper 350 series now costing 9xx was wondering if they
are other brands which are cheaper and function as good as viper. thanks.

Auto arming is the standard features of most after market alarm system, my
be you should check your manual its a matter of programming your alarm
system to do so. Usually they call this passive arming. Please beware that
if this become standard routine what happen if you left your remote, car
keys and your baby inside the car, and all of the sudden the alarm armed
and lock all the doors, u don't have extra keys with you that time, its
pretty risky too!!

Regarding the autolock once you step on break, its standard feature for
Kenari car, for others that don't come with it, you can always go to any
accessories shop to add in something like a switch, go tell them they will
know what to do for you.

Why do you want to go for cheaper price brand, since you already using a
very good system, normally I would look for a better upgrade that come with
more high tech features and usually the price will be a bit expensive too.
Or you can choose those that come with optional features for you to add in
to enhance the system. I think Clifford have a few model with this features.

maui303q,

why don cha consider some better established brand, its just a matter of
a couple of hundred different? For RM600 the amount is just too small for
a car security system, even a good basic immo already cost you around
Rm600 plus, so please be careful when selecting a good alarm. Perhaps the
forum alarm Master Foo can assist you on this matter.

Hi have you guys read about a cool yet affordable alarm system in zth?

Well here's the direct link to zth.

http://www.zerotohun...hp?showforum=63

You can also read the longest thread on this alarm here

http://www.zerotohun...?showtopic=9741

If you're looking for functions and not for brand name you should give
this one a look. Worth considering guys.

Passive arming means when you leave your car and you forget to lock your
car it will arm it automatically. However for good system it will not
lock your car for the same reason you mentioned "What if I left my key
inside" What it will do is arm the car meaning that if it has a shock
sensor it will be on. If someone opens the car door, the siren will go
off but the door will still open...any if you have a 2 way remote then
you will be notified that the siren has gone off and your car has been
violated

Yup the autolock is pretty standard with most aftermarket alarms..even
cheap ones so its not a really fancy function

Passive alarm function is something that I would consider "standard"
feature an ok alarm should have...no big deal but good to have lar bro.

Not sure if you have looked that the sites I posted but give it a shot if
you have not. They can give you a free demo, at least you can see and
learn more about the alarm and also get some pointers from them.

My 2 cents.

Cheers
