Friends, I have a couple of questions on car thieves using tow trucks. I've
noticed that tow trucks usually pull the vehicle from the front with the
back wheels on the road. If the handbrake is on can they still tow the vehicle?

Can the tow truck pull the car from the the back with the front wheels on
the road?

I've heard ppl say that to prevent yr car from being towed, just turn the
front wheels all the way to the right or left. How does this prevent the
car from being towed fom the front?

Thanks!!

The tow truck operator can jack up your car and put some sort of a metal
plate with wheels (rollers). Whether you lock your wheel, pull handbrake,
turn steering all the way to the left/right, they can still steal your car.

I've read its best to park the car with the front facing in and try at
all costs to avoid parking at quiet and darkly lit areas which makes
perfect sense. Park at busy areas, preferably along narrower roads. It
makes towing difficult, already a big deterrent. But these are ideal
scenarios, which often doesn't happen. If a thief wants to steal, he/they
can resort to armed car jacking or towing. The best way out is to have
enough auto theft insurance.

I wander if they can tow our car if we are parallel parked, with cars
infront and back of us. Hmm..maybe jack up the front and put rollers then
jack up the rear and do the same.. Haha..Smile

ever heard of a tilt sensor? when installed, if the car is tilted at a
certain angle from horizon, it will trigger the alarm.

cheers

My friend,

This is Malaysia, no one cares when an alarm goes off....so tilt sensors
are as good as useless!

masoom,

ya, agree with u that in malaysia no one cares. but at least if u have a
two way, when alarm triggered, it will notify u, or at least if u
subscribed to a service when alarm is triggered, the provider will notify
u and let u know the location.

my frens waja stolen and the alarm provider managed to locate the vehicle
(wonder why on earth someone wants to install GPS tracking system on a
waja) and lock it, when they arrived there, the stupid thieve still there
thinking of why the car stop half way.
