Hi! I just bought a Hyundai Matrix 1.6 Auto, (imported modal) a week ago.
I was testing the alarm system yesterday,
and end up the system not allows me to start the engine!

I was testing the alarm by:
1. Lock the car using the remote control.
2. Let the car alarm trigger for 27 seconds, and the alarm stop as stated
in the book.
3. I try to put the key into "ON" state for 30 seconds and try to start the
car, but it doesn't allow me to start engine.
4. I also try to Open and Lock the car using the remote control again, it
working fine. but I still cannot start the engine.
5. The lock is working fine, the CD player, horn all working perfect, But
when I turn to start from "ON" using the key, the car don't start.

Please help me! I don't know how to reset the anti-theft security system.
Thank you very much!
Your help would be highly appreciate!

Regards,
Lim Win Hwang

Read the manual, see whether any instruction to reset the alarm to
default. Worst case, unplug the power supply, wait 20secs, plug back again.

For something serious as this, I'm more surprised you called for help in
this forum rather than calling the people who sold you your car....

try to press the remote button once and look around if there is a red led
light up(not blinking). the alarm may be wired with the ignition switch
or starter.

i believe your car alarm's ignition killer has kicked in. It may have
blocked fuel supply. You'll need to reset the alarm again. Ways to reset
it defers from alarm to alarm. You'll have to read the manual.

Do not know whether the same or not, but most cars have another switch
hidden under dash board near steering coloumn.
If you can find it, Keys must be in ignition slot turn to on, and switch
flip on and off the reset.
Hope this is of help.

if the alarm have got 2 remote buttons on it press the one on the left
first then press the one on the right then press the one on the left again
and then you will be able to start your car if not try it the other way
right first then left then right again
i try this with a few different alarm remotes and it works you can give it
a shot and keep us posted here
