peterscm. Assuming the helicopter was available it could be used. Common
sense tells you though that they will belong to a commercial concern and
the only way to cover their operating costs is to keep them in the air
doing other work.
Once again, Captor installation in Proton cars is a government
implemented get rich quick scheme for its cronies. It was never meant to
benefit owners.

My 3 basic principles to avoid car thief
(a) Don't piss off anybody on the road eg if they want to potong without
signal, let them be.
(b) Don't install anything fancy (exterior and interior) eg turbo meter,
HU, etc. This includes bag or briefcase that is left in the car.
© Always park in an area where there is a lot of people.
Of course, these 3 principles are not easy to follow. Note that I do not
put steering lock and install the best immobilizer as I believe it is
useless against car thief.

stargate, you're a very lucky person to not have any incidents happen.
But I have to disagree that immobilizer and steering locks are useless
against car thieves. They may not prevent the theft but they can
certainly make it more difficult.

captor did work in my case. my gen2 was being towed towards the proton
factory in menglembu and they did called me after 2 hours when the alarm
went off. they called me again when the proton people tampered with the
gen2 2 days later.

It worked for me too. I was fumbling with the remote and it somehow got
armed just before I started the engine. The engine started for a few
seconds and died. Alarm blared all the way and took me a while to disable
it even with the remote.
Less than 5 mins later, I got a call from Netstar asking me about the
status of the car.

Response from Captor is pretty quick. If my alarm blares more than 5 times
I'd get a call after a couple of minutes. Happened last week when I sent my
car for a wash.
