Some time ago I read in an article that you can install this gadget that
connects to your car alarm which when triggered will call a preset phone
number.
Anybody knows if this contraption is available in the market in KL?

Yes, it's using GSM to call another phone, with SMS capability.
The price is around RM2000, can't remember the brand.

They have the same weakness as 2 ways car alarm system, once the car is
park in Basement 3 or 4 storey below, your handphone won't be able to
receive the signal, so come back to square one, all up to your car alarm n
immo n all the security lock to save your car!!!
