i can see that. maybe that is one of the reason why they can sell Tunit
close to Rm3K+ or more just to cover that but performance is similar to
other reputable tuning box. :-)

happy tuning...

Be careful with such chip-tuning on diesel engines. Make sure that your
transmission and drive-shafts can take the extra torque. As the torque
increase is generally +30%, it will increase the stress on transmission a
drive-shaft parts considerably.

I had a plug-play device installed and got a little bit carried away with
it. Performance increase is respectable and quite addictive. If the claim
was correct, my Megane 1.9 dCi would have had its torque increased from
300Nm to 380Nm or so. While the transmission on my car handled the
increase without problems, the drive-shafts had started to complain under
heavy acceleration.

Just a short note on the matter

hi Fraggle,

thanks for hightlighting it. may in know what brand u using? +30% seems
a bit far to reach. normally all tuning boxes will only get you about
20% and that is already very good.

usually, with additional 20% of power, most mechanical part will be able
to handle it fairly. of course, more power means more stress and that is
a given. no pain no gain.

so, any diesel head with commonrail engine would like to increase the
power? let me know yeah...!

Do you have any dyno chart to back up your claim on this piggy-back?

hi AdRt,

unfortunately not. one day i will put my own marea JTD for dyno.
however, u can get the predicted 'dyno' chart from the website.

www.vector-tuning.com click on the UK flag and check out the
Configurator. it does show how the hp/torque curve like with the tuning
box.

btw, can good suggestion to do dyno. i heard a lot of about being dyno
wrongly. it is just a machine. if the person who run it do the wrong
setup, the result will be wrong as well.
