It is the viscosity count. Not the type of oil.

As long as you are using engine oil specifically designed for diesel
engines i.e. having the necessary additives and the correct BN range, it
does not matter whether the oil is mineral, semi-synth or full synth. The
choice is up to you to make.

If you are thinking of using synthetic oil for petrol engine cars in diesel
trucks then the answer is no.

Plus the required quality grade. For example, API C*.

Hi Tourist,
So thicker or thinner to consider? Toyota only use CF 5W/40 fully
synthetic, can it last for 10,000km?

this can only tell by doing used oil analysis (UOA). It measure how much
abrasives (metal particles fr the engine)in the oil and the additives left.

Last time, I did for my 15W40 at 8k km. All pass, i think exceed 10k km no
problem. But not doing now coz expensive.

CF oil!Old spec already. I think this is petrol full syn that also can use
in diesel engine. I doubt this can last long with our dirty diesel.
Y not get diesel oil instead of petrol full syn?

read for urself what CF call for.

I believe common rail engine using direct injection, not indirect injection
like my old tech diesel engine.

So this is so call "recommendation".
As a owner better understand more abt automotive and judge by urself.

A business firm, profit is priority. They don't cash in ton of $$ to keep
inventory, they sell u what benefit them, not u and ur car.

care to elaborate what in the rm900 bill?
When is ur next service? Next 5k km?
