For info only......do not try to open the rear aircond grill panel at
l/h side of third row seat.It looks like removeable...but its not. The
panel is glued to side panel at 4 points. I knew this b'coz i hv broke 2
of them while trying to open it with a mechanic at Seri kembangan SC. Not
his fault.....its mine. He not dared to open b'coz hes not sure about it
but I still try b'coz of my itchy hand.If access to rear blower is
needed, whole side panel need to be removed...this will take about 45 mins.

Possibility....

German gas ...... (design in Germany). hee hee

Leather (synthetic) or half leather?
I had that experience with my sis Nissan. Installed it with the above the
smell still persist after 3 years. Kind of stale plastic laethery smell.

Check rear compartments after the last row seats. Could be something in
there?

I have installed leather for all the seats and they do not generate any
unwanted odour apart from the natural smell of leather which I like.
Furthermore, the leather odour is subtle and not overpowering. This might
not be true for poorly treated leather.

The AC does not generate any odour in my car.

One possibility, a small dead creature trapped in the AC hosing...I am
sure you know what that might smell like.

I think the smell came from the car deoderizer that you use. When you use
inside air circulation the smell also gets recycled by the aircond. After
you switched off your aircond, the smell says inside the ac circulation
paths and becames stale under hot sun. When u turn on the aircond later,
the stale smell comes out. Open your window a little and they are gone
after a few minutes.

So solution is not to use these deoderizes, especially the gel ones or
those in cans. Once in while, you should turn on the rear aircond and open
your rear windows a little to get rid of the smell. Try to spray some
febreeze while the aircond is on. SHould help to remove the smell from the
ac lines.

Really memeningkan.......maybe the worker spilled something while
assembling my car.So I'm the only one affected. It seem like the smell
come from upper body structure. Can smell it thru the net's hook
hole, adjustable seat belt slot and also from front beam(left and right
hand side of windscreen).Need to put your nose next to beam...then can
smeel it. I think I look like stupid guy while doing this smelling thing.
Mcm nak pengsan....Dont feel like going to Proservis b'coz cannot involve
in the troubleshooting.I want to be part of it.I dont to go there all the
way and what they say to you is....."Ini biasa ni...buka tingkap luas-luas
bla..bla..bla".Idid the buka tingkap luas-luas and drove about half an
hour in early morning (5am) for fresh air.....and still K.O.Maybe need to
remove all panel.........that is the horror part.Afraid that panel might
become loose and I'll get free orchestra when driving.

So are you using any car perfume? You are not the only one having this
problem. I had a similar problem with my Waja and its because of the
perfume. Now i have it with Nabira and its the perfume too. Not all perfume
though because i noticed that those Gel type or those in can are the real
culprit - the cheap RM4.90 one. After i stop using the perfume, things
return to normal. Try clearing the smell with febreeze/open window and stop
or change parfume. Let me know if it helps.
