I own a Lada Niva from new (1994).
Most spare parts still available, just need to know where to look.
If boleland no stock, I import from aussieland. Have to plan import and
wait about 2 weeks for post boleland to deliver.
U own a Niva too? Which model?
I am driving up to Thailand and Cambodia early December, finished one
last year, no problems. Many ppl shocked to have to follow the Niva on
such long journey but really in its element when the road ends...

I have a 1997 Niva 1.7. Its a very basic but SOLID vehicle. I use it as a
workhorse as I live in ulu area. Only problem is that after 8 years the
signs are showing.
I am looking for the wheel bushings, distributor and water pump. Is it
possible to get it here? If not, how can I get it from OZ? I actually
intend to replace most of the parts.

OK, of course I can try to help another owner.
The BP 4x4 shop at sunway mentioned by uthaya72 has shifted to puchong,
the owner is Norman.
The parts you mentioned are common items, onli wheel bushings I not sure
which ones you talking about. Distributor & water pump available local.
The 1.7 oso usually gives problem with the main universal coupling coz it
is supposed to be maint free, cannot grease.
Is your car in running condition? Will you be able to drive it to
Puchong/Subang Jaya area?
We try to fix time for you to bring ur Niva to doctor.

Have already checked with Norman but he said that the distributor needs to
be modified with wira parts or something like that. I don't believe that
it is good for the long term. From previous experience, all these modified
parts don't last very long.
I have a russian friend who has agreed to source the parts from russia. I
am going to provide a list to him. Are you interested? Maybe you could
compare prices with Oz?

Take my advise, make the change to the electronic distributor. You won't
regret it. I changed mine about 2 years ago and no need to manually tune
it since. Last time, need to tune almost every month, cannot tahan. Oso,
the contact point used to burn at a rate of one every 3 months. So far 2
years no need to change.
I have no outstanding requirement for parts at the moment, everything is
working as it should be. (which is a wonder!) Just a small reminder, the
parts in russia are for the left hand drive models there, be very sure to
specify the part numbers for the right hand drive.
Hope you get your Niva on the road soon! Keep in touch.
