My Hilux stolen on 11 July 2006 Tuesday morning from my condo parking
lot. CCTV
footage shows Hilux leaving at 6.12am when security open the barrier. It
was raining during tthe theft and I believed I heard siren for a short
while only and then later the sound of metal braking (I belief the
Locktech brake lock was broken ). Woke up at 6.15 and found the parking
lot empty.

Reg No is WNV 8969 is embossed on windows and front wind screen. It is
silver in color with a premier canopy and a side mirror added on. It is
tinted green with the premier canopy in a lighter shade.

Hilux owners, pls put additional security on your vehicles.

Sorry to hear that dude..... but biasa lah... Hilux and Storm are very hot vehicles. Hope you get it
back and hope you don't get too much trouble from the folks at the insurance company.

Cheers

Getting it back will cause less financial loss but the worries that goes
into keeping the Hilux secure is high. Maybe at every sound I might wake
up. But anyhow it still hurts because this is a fantastic vehicle.
Insurance guys said 3 months to be compensated, really not much of a
hassle from them.

lpc....

Yeah I know what you're saying. Either tie a attack trained rhodesian ridgeback to each bumper of
the car or put up with losing it every now and then. Security at your condo also didn't bother to
ensure it was you driving the car out at 6 in the morning ka?

Sorry man.... looks like you got some real bad luck on this one.... so what you buying in 3 months
time when you get your insurance money? Can I tempt you into a P38??

CCTV footage shows the hilux was at the security post for a total of
35seconds where the guard first try a mastercard to open barrier, he was
unseccussful and later on he changed the card and tried again. Problem
was the thief did not want to roll over the barrier sensor and when the
guard swipe the second card, he just moved forward and roll the hilux
out. The guard is on his first day of duty and has not been working
since. The thief knows what he is doing to ensure that he is not caught
on camera. I have the recording with me but the file is big. Maybe with
some help, I could download the file for you to view. By the way, what is
P38?

Wow.... real bad break there. Sorry about that.

P38 is the model number for the 1996-2002 Range Rovers. I'm kinda going thru a P38 phase at the
moment..... BOY I LOVE THOSE CARS!!!!!!

Hi lpc... I'm really sorry to hear that. We recently lost our Kembara as
well, and it's really horrible when something you own is taken from you.
My insurance company said six months and more before settlement. At least
you're lucky that they said 3 months in your case. Best of luck, and hope
you don't lose too much money out of this whole thing. Curse the scums!
