My Frontier is 60,000km (1yr 4 months)..
- Mostly the noises came from the inside of the door panel
(something squeezing). Already send to Tan Chong for repair, they told
that is normal…
- Already send to Aircond Service Agent(The one and only in Kota
Kinabalu) to rectify the sounding coming from the aircond compressor, was
told that was due to the “aircond fan” problem (couldn’t switch on). Send
to Tan Chong for “computerize Diagnostic” and found out that the “aircond
fan” is actually running properly (when achieved certain temperature)..
What..When..Wrong..!!!
- For the bolt-joint cover(only one bolt-joint broken), I’d tried to
find them but was told by Tan Chong spare parts that they don’t sale the
bolt-joint separately and must be for the Whole Set of the joint – RM700
(excluding labour)
- Recently, I just bought 4 new SILVERSTONE HT Tyre 265/16/70 and
send for alignment checking, still early to judge. Last time the tyre wear
(sloppy+side wear) is mostly on the inner and outer right front tyre.
I think, I will dismantle the door panel and fix it myself. But for the
bolt-joint and other things still do know what to do…

Try looking at your foot step...It might be rubbing with your
body..normally the front edge of this foot step is touching your car body
thus producing this squeezing sound.

Whole Set of the joint – RM700 -pC10
have you try looking in KL??

“aircond fan” problem (couldn’t switch on). - pC10

- I will try that.. thanks..

"Whole Set of the joint – RM700 -pC10

- I haven't. maybe I'll try to look for HILUX's or Invader's bolt-joint,
my friend(a mechanic)said it might be use.. hopefully lah...

“aircond fan” problem (couldn’t switch on)"
- this is actually on the front of the radiator. During the car is
standing still it won't be running(certain temperature haven't achived),
untill you accelerate to make the engine hotter then only it become switch
on(running).

Cud it be the thermostat faulty?? - endurasoon
- in early stage during the investigation by the aircond service agent,
they also suspect the thermostat faulty. But it's not.. because there is
certain indication stated on the Manual Book which the thermostat only
become switch on after certain engine temperature (** Degree Celsius) and
it was correct because the uniques of the Frontier engine is the extreme
temperature will never achived during stand still and only can be achived
when the engine is very-very hot(during long travel). The thermostat is
not faulty because it can be easily switch on during the "Electronic
Diagnostic" (auto-switch by the device).

'Funny News'
- Actually, I'd posted my email through the NISSAN website(NISSAN HQ, KL)
last monday and complaint about the bolt-joint(which the Tan Chong Kota
Kinabalu said not covered in the warranty). Just now(at 1.30pm), somebody
from Tan Chong Kota Kinabalu call me to check the bolt-joint. I been there
at 2pm and after checking the faulty, the same person last week who told
me that the faulty is not covered under the warranty ask me "who is the
person last week who told you this is not covered under warranty..? this
is defenitely covered under the warranty..!!" Woo...funny laaa...
They check the part from their part's department and still have to order
them, they promise by this saturday.. hopefully can get it..

So easy hu.. just by email to their HQ can change everything... so
powerfull man...!!!!

yup, email and internet can be a powerful tool. Last time i coplaint
about my tyres, i got a free T-shirt haaa...
Malaysia boleh lah...different people will give you different story.

So basically your A/C compressor making noise and the TC agent say it is
bcos the fan is not running. Well just ask them to replace the compressor
coz it is still under warranty.

FYI. i hv just started my engine, with ot without the A/C running the fan
will operate.

DIY. spray some WD-40 near the compressor pulley.

But to why the fan is not operating before a certain temperature, that's
strange.

"My Frontier is 60,000km (1yr 4 months).."..................it this not a
little high mileage? I mean you drive a average almost 150km daily in
Sabah which does not have much smooth roads. No wonder there are so much
noises. Also check your tyre pressure, if high, expect more noises and
more loose parts

'Another Funny News'
- Just after somebody from Tan Chong Kota Kinabalu call me at 1.30pm, at
3pm there also a person from NISSAN HQ Kuala Lumpur called me and ask if
the Tan Chong KK already settle my bolt-joint problem, and say this and
this and sorry...wow..!!!

"But to why the fan is not operating before a certain temperature, that's
strange." - endurasoon
- I think this true, because I remembered my Proton Saga last time got it,
because they got a separate 'fan', 1 for engine radiator and 1 for
Aircond. The engine 'fan' is always running, but the A/C 'fan' will only
switch-on on certain time.

Eventhough my Frontier is 60,000km, but it's was droved mostly on highway
and of course there are a lot of un-smooth roads here. However the noises
are very noticeable and very noisy compare to my other friend's car(Ranger
& Hilux).

- By the way, for my 265/16/70 tyre, what is the suitable tyre pressure ?
I'd 40psi as recommended by manufacture, but there is a tyre wear
especially on the middle of the tyre and very bumpy too... I'd tried 32psi
and it's OK a bit but produced very serious tyre wear(inner side).

Looks like KK branch's guy no doing his job and KL HQ want to jaga their
face.

I pop up my hood. notice there is only one fan. is your with 2 fans? if
there is 2 fans, then what you mention is right.... If you say the
compressor is making noise, just perssure TC to change a new one.

60,000km, I am not even halfway there yet but will update you once i get
there Smile

try 35psi-37psi.
is your 265/16/70 original tyres???

I think, I would go to the Aircond Service Agent first, because for the
aircond got a separate warranty from them and not from Tan Chong.. do know
why but that is the prosedure as stated by the Manual Booklet and the
Agent is actually the one and only in Kota Kinabalu... maybe could ask
them to service the aircond first and in the same time try to find out
what is actually going wrong.. sometimes I need to be a self mechanic also
(just to monitor what is going on).

- Actually, the original tyre size is 245/16/70 (SIMEX tyre), now I bought
the SILVERSTONE HT tyre 265/16/70 - the Rim is the same (original).

'endurasoon'
- What tyre you are using ? Do experienced tyre wear ? What shock absorber
you are using ?
