firstly, i do think that u should post this in Truck & SUV territory.
and 2ndly for ur case,i'm no pajero experts but i would like to share my
experience on my Jimny.apparently,it behave like yours.i think the 4WD mode
switch should be around your transfer box.ok,assume u had connected the
related wires accordingly,u should check the switch attached to the
transfer box itself.in my case,my switch was jammed.the switch have some
kinda lid popping out from it to detect that u are in 4WD mode.mine, the lid
stuck inside.if u had seen the reverse gear switch,it almost similar to it.
at first i thought something wrong with my transfer box coz i'm in full
time 4WD according to the meter panel.so,i replaced the switch for RM30 and
the problem solved..

Tq for your reply
FYI i posted there before but no reply, seem that pajero is not famous in
autoworld.
I forgot to add that the indicator only turn off when i shift to neutral
on the 4x4 gear.
if i were to take off the swicth, will the GB fluid spill out as my swicth
is located at the bottom half of the GB.
Any idea how much mine will cost?
another question,i'm new to 4x4.there are 4H,4L,2H and N.i know when to
use the 1st three but when is N used?
its written on the door that N is used for power take-off,what does that
mean?

for offroader they have their own place to hang out.i just know
www.offroadershack.com....u should try..u'll find more there..
so if it turns off when neutral,i don't think it's jammed.and i'm not sure
what's the root cause.coz my indicator shows 4WD in every mode even in N..
one more thing,if u pulled out the switch the oil will surely spilt.unless
u put a stopper or something.sorry,i've no idea for the cost.
2H is 2 wheel drive.4H is for 'high' i guess and L for low..just engage
them in your test drive.u'll notice the difference.as for me i just use the
2H while normal driving and 4L for offroading.i finds 4H doesn't do any
good.as for N,when i engage this,the Jimny can't even move..

Tq again 4 your reply and the URL
guess i have to wait until the next change of GB fluid then.
your 4H does no good?on mine i use 4H when going offroad.4H has enough
power already.
In UAZ 4x4 racing game, they said 4L is use for climbing steep gradient.
U should try this game.its addictive.

If so,then my 1000cc engine have insufficient power output for its
4H..actually i go for offroading whenever i'm going into my sawit.until
now,no offroading convoy yet.if you are into this hobby, then i think the
URL given is the most suitable place to hang out.they even went to hatyai
for spareparts.can save 1k for a roof rack if my mind serves me right.and
they do a great job too.
