Hi, I just pay deposit for a new Audi. Just to share with you about some
bad points about Audi I was told when I test drive varios cars.
1. Poor after sale service
2. difficult to get parts
3. poor second hand value
4. high maintainance fees will kill you

Suprisingly nothing bad is said about the car itself. It is the problem
with the dealer. I think Euromobil should looks into it seriously.

1. reverse sensor: should i get it from anyone or it is better to get
from audi authorised dealers?
2. is v-kool any different from other type of heat insulator?

What the salesmen don't tell you is this:-

0) European cars are complex machines meeting most recent regulations and
emmission standards. Proton and some korean models brought in here are
sadly..old technology. Comparing maintenance costs of them vs
proton/korean brands are like comparing maintenance of a photocopying
machine vs a typewriter.

1) These dealers are prob using Proton & Korean makes as comparisons..
Modern japanese cars are also getting modular and maintenance costs and
parts are catching up. Try asking for the price of a ECU for a Toyota
Camry.

2) Poor maintenance and lack of parts leads to ill maintained
vehicles..part of the reason resale value is low.

3) Beemer dealers are good at cloaking glamour advertising among it's
cars, and as a result you don't hear em owners complaining about
maintenance costs BUT THEY ARE HIGH.

4) Audi ori parts (not OEM) lasts pretty long and need less attention once
it's working fine. Maintenance cost is more like big occasional chunks,
rather than small frequent nibbles on your wallet.. your choice.

5) As long as your reverse sensor is standalone, there should be no
concern with wat brand or mechanic u use (I tend to think Em should
include reverse sensor into the package for a car this price).

6) V-kool, I was told, is really good but pricey.

congrats on ur new toy. regarding ur question about vkool, nothing is close to it, no matter what
they claim. vkool uses a technology of spraying the silver particles onto polyester film that
rejects heat and uv, while others use dye technology that is injected into the film, hence dont last
or work as well as vkool. dont believe the salesmen.
and go to the headquarters of vkool in section 19 pj, cos there are lots of imitation vkool being
sold.

V-kool is great... but I think Rike Cool these days are just as good.
However in terms of heat prevention the best is still Kristal Bond.
But no matter what you do, if you park the car under the sun it is surely
going to be hot inside..
When driving... I don't think they make that much of a difference.

But if you are getting it FOC when buying the car.....by all means insist
that it be V-kool only.

Hi,
Talk about what's bad, any comment on the quattro? I mean, either very few
running on the streets or its problematic? or no parts?
I almost own a mid '80's quattro few years ago until someone else
brainwash me saying its high maint.,etc. They say if the 4x4 give problem,
that's it.
i was so convince then that the 4x4 system was 2nd to none, except for the
scooby's.

a 20 yr old car anyway. At least the quattro that you looking at is
still in running condition. Don't think can say the same thing about a
20 yr old scooby...if they had produced it then.

Audi parts are known to last and mind you having a car still in running
condition using 1980's technology. Why not try the year 2000 onwards. I
bet the 4x4 system will last you at least another 10 years without any
problems.
