For real golf enthusiast, a manual box is more desireable. By far.
Although a DSG tranny is a state of art gbox, for ear to ear grin,
nothing comes close to a manual transmision.

I am not sure this term "poor man's etc". I beliece , it is more apt in
western countries where margin of loan is only 30% or less. For
bolehland, I have seen lots of people buy cash.

Does that means those who buy polo Gti cash are poorer people than those
who take 80% loan for golf gti ? hehe

in any case, I just love the Polo Gti. For 2 reason:

1) It has a semblance of my 1st car. A golf Mk 1. Sizewise it is almost
the same. I love the perfect proportion.

2) Smaller TFSi engine coupled with manual box !.

Too bad, I just make 2 huge commitments, else I wouldn't bat ny eye one
bit. It will stay on my radar for long time to come.

Just tested the Polo GTI last weekend.

All I can say is that this Polo GTI is really a pocket rocket ! Feels solid
for such a small car and handles well too. There is so much torque at low
rpms that you hardly have to row the gears often. Leave it at 4th gear even
at 40kmh and just press the fun pedal a bit and off it goes, riding on that
fat torque curve.

Damn exhilarating driving this car. If it was as big as the Golf, would
have bought it.

Hi everyone,

I'm really consider this car as my second car.Weekend need to go
outstation and i think this car suites me well and it's such a fun car to
drive.I checked with Projekt Euro Tuning and for Stage 1 modification
which is just re-mapping the ecu you can get 190bhp with 250-260Nm.With
this upgrade you can "play" with such car as Cooper S and EVO 9.Believe
me the top speed will be 250km/h.Being the car kerb weight only 1,164kg
this car is damn super fast.Once i get my finance approval i will go a
long those hi-way and "catch me if you can"..HeHe!

The best way to enjoy such pocket rocekt is to layan the winding road at
batang kali or the bukit putus at kuala pilah. The cornering dynamic , if
i were led to believed based on my expereince with Mk 1 golf GTi, will be
stupendous.

Leave all those Coopers and Evos alone.

You are better off hitting those cornering apex while grinning ear to
ear and smell the burnt rubbers after a hot lap up the winding roads.

Golf GTi has left the GTi scenes long ago. It hs now transform into a
full fledge c class Compressor eater.

This Polo may be a real GTi (hothatch) incarnates !

Having taken delivery of this Pocong opps Polo last week and already
clocking 900 clicks. She had her first feel of 220, 230 or 235 is possible if
flooring further. Having used to high revving SGTi for 5 years, I must say it's
a real delight to have such massive torque from 2K rpm. Yes, the front will
push wide a bit on corners but it's becoming a fun toy the more you drive it:)

788,

Got yours already? Hehehe
