RedA4,
It's not air fuel regulator... it's Adjustable Fuel Regulator. Basically
what is does is to raise the fuel pressure in your line, tank etc etc. What
most ppl including myself experience is slightly better throttle response,
especially during stop and go traffic and it also got rid of my flatspot at
about 4k-4.5k rpm. Mine is set at 4bar pressure. Protons run lower at about
2.5-3.0bar.
You can give it a try, but dont expect your car to outrun an EVO..haha. It
just makes the A4 a lot more drivable in town.
As far as FC, I dont think it made any difference.

But beware.. I heard some peeps pushing it to 5 bar and havings leaks here
and there!
recommendation,.. staying below 5 bars should be fine.

Go for those adjustable ones WITH a PRESSURE GAUGE so you can see what
you're up to.
RM350-400 would be a right price.

Could be a brand..
As far as I know.. a Fuel Pressure Regulator is a pretty basic item with a
in (pressure side), out (return to fuel tank) and a little tube to the
manifold vacuum after the butterfly valve.
The vacuum controls the diagphgm inside the regulator to maintain a
differential of 4 bar at all times. At idle the vacuum at the tip of the
injectors is high, so pressure must be reduced. At full throttle, vacuum
dissapears so the FPR increases the pressure to compensate.
This is done so the differential in pressure remains constant for accurate
fuel metering.

I've just checked with Jason who brings stuff in from UK. He doesn't do UK
FPR's coz it's too expensive and not competitive compared to the other
offerings from Japan etc.
