I think its gonna be big business if one could "sapu" all the used Kancils
or plotongs at the used car yard at very dirt cheap price, and then export
it to a 3rd.world country like PNG,SL etc..
This will prevent the used car market becoming stagnant.
Myammar have lots of 70s cars running around. Mostly were from Japan.
Shipped in dirt cheap.

Quoting ookami ...
"Of all states that I have been..Perlis has the highest incidence of
contact with old cars [some are as old as 1970 models...Datsun 120Y!]
Search me, I just dunno why?? ..."

Easy... the smaller the town, the lesser you need to travel, so an old
faithful can do the job , they have been under-used probably even after all
these years coz covering only short distances and condition still pretty
good...

i myself have an '83 Corolla GL to run around Kuantan town especially after
hours ... it does the job well

Ya, LGX, I agree with you to a certain extent.

Most of the cars that I saw in Perlis did not have that "R" series of
Perlis car plates! Most of them were P or B or even W!

Actually that Corrolla GL is a good car, if you dun mind the design and
outdated but still competent technologies.

Ya, KHS, I am like you too....I am having a 1992 Mazda Familia, a 1992
and a 1994 Mazda Astina...soon, I will be taking over my friend's 1990
Mazda Astina! I dun intend to sell those fantastic cars! Trust me, they
are dammed good cars. After going through the Proton production systems,
I dun think so I will ever buy a Proton car! Proton is like MAS..that are
both totally incompetent and lost their focus on customer satisfaction!

Answer : The old cars all ended up in rural area. In the kampungs where
many run without road tax. Ask any second hand car dealer they will tell
you this. In fact there is great demand for old car in running condition
in these areas.

Ya, why not??

Actually it is just a matter of preference to how you spend your money
[or budget]. Option 1: In my family I have 4 adults who need cars for
transportation to different areas every day. If I use RM 60K to buy a new
car, I have only one car to use, poor me I will be the driver for bas
sekolah and bas opis! All four will be unhappy! Option 2: If I use the
same amount I buy 4 used Astinas [around RM 16K each] All four will be
happy! I have more cars to use. When I presented this idea to one of my
friends, he just told me abruptly...he did not like his car to carry the
previous owner's BO [body odour]and sometimes you might get "chicken
smell" !! What to do, people's own preference mah! As for Astina's..FC is
good and road tax is half price now [> 1600 cc] mah...
